clickety click: Fare you well my Bonny (remastered 31 july)

Fare you well my Bonny
lyrics & music Artspurg © 2013 SABAM & arr © Artspurg 2014

Steam from the whistle, smoke from the stack
From a freight train calling, waiting down the track,
Waiting down the track

Fare you well my bonny, I hear a whistle blow,
Fare you well my honey, I’m sorry I must go,
I hear a whistle blow

When she brings you water, it’s from an empty cup
Fare you well my bonny, I’m going to give it up
I’ll just give it up

See that crow a-flying, flying mighty high
Nothing short of dying, will drop it from the sky,
Someday I’ll learn to fly

On a freight train rollin’, heading for the west,
I bless the day we parted, it must for the best,
Must be for the best

Fare you well my bonny, fare you well my dear,
Fare you well my honey, I’m getting out of here,
I’m getting out of here

Used style is _QUICKLY.STY, with almost all the included instrument RTs left intact except added RT 591 banjo juice for some soloing replacing the clawhammer banjo. Plus my good ole faddle and a hired lady singer saved from another recording session. Guess it must be Country then, eh?

Love this energetic tune.
For some reason reminds of some of the American civil war songs.
Great production and performance.
Overall a great effort.

Wow, this is really excellent. What a great choice of style. That fiddle fills in perfectly.
Great!

Very cool. That sounded like it could have been part of the sound track for Ken Burns' Civil War documentary. Excellent production.

Thanks all, a PS: Here's a videotized old version from 2013 (thus not with the RTs from the 2017 _QUICKLY.STY release) but selected grassy RTs that came out with the first release of Audiophile. BTW most of the war scenes cut out of harms' way to enhance the story:
