For MIDI parts, you have to use the StylePicker button and choose and load a MIDI style. That will have Bass in it. Okay to then substitute RealTracks for the various MIDI accompaniment instruments in that style after you load it.
I use the Auto Intro button to quickly create the desired number of bars and all the other stuff, then I simply type in my own chord choices over the ones there.
