You may have noticed I have been a little more vocal as of late (or more likely have not). Nevertheless, I saw this milestone coming and wanted to sprint to the finish line.

I guess I have been around the forum for at least 10 years (time flies when you are having fun). And it has been fun. The content of this forum over the years has been exemplary. Hope in all my 500 posts I have not offended anyone and also that my contributions have been value added to the forum.

So in keeping with the spirit of Thanksgiving, thanks to all who keep the forum going. And to those top dogs on the count list (you know who you are), watch out I am catching up.

Dan

Hey Dan,

Don't they say "Life begins at 50"? I sure hope so, as I'm 48, except for more pounds and a little less energy at times, I pretty much feel like I'm still in High School. Maybe I never grew up. Stay positive, I'm sure you have many wonderful years left!!

Happy birthday! Enjoy the Holiday (I'm now living in Mexico where it isn't celebrated, plus.....where would I find good stuffing, corn on the cob and Pumpkin Pie?????)

Guess i need to clarify. It is not actually my birthday and my 50th, came and went 6 years ago. But I did just hit 500 posts (get it 50...0) in the pgmusic forum (501 with this 1). Didn't mean to confuse, its just my weird sense of humor...

Happy Holiday, Ed. I can understand about pumpkins, but if you can't find corn in Mexico, something is very wrong.

Yes, Dan, I got the message as intended. But I also passed 50, before you. 10+ years on the forum as well.

I cook, that solves the pumpkin thing. My friends in Chapala have never asked for pumpkin. Actually if you look at most of the canned stuff it's squash anyway. So you cook a pie crust. Put in the cooked squash, whip some cream.

As long as you have bread and chicken broth and sage and onions you have stuffing. I never stuff the bird.

My wife and I are probably starting to spend winters in the Lake Chapala Aiijic area. I spent 3 weeks there a few years back. I have 2 couples we are friends with there, on stays year round, the other winters. I asked Graham about crime and he said the area is free of the problems along the border. There sure are a lot of North Americans there, and the golf course and country club was nice, I played the piano at the club a few times. They want me to the point of "free food and beverages when you play suppers...".

The warmth does the arthritis good in the winter.

I even bought Rosetta Stone to learn Spanish.

There was a point where I was actually catching up to Mac....that was about 20,000 posts ago!

I haven't looked, am I still in the top five?

I thought the 50 was fifty years old too.

And just as I was typing this post, I got a call from my XX wife. (That's the ex wife before the last ex wife. LOL)

Talk about confusing!

Hehe.

You've played it smart Sam. The only good thing that's came out of either marriage is a wonderful son, who just turned 18. He's an honor student and a musician! And he lives with me, so I get to see him everyday. So I guess that makes the second bad marriage worth it.

I couldn't possibly be more proud of him!

Bob
