Hi once again
Having found my new 2018 (2017/11) styles, with the Forum's help, I went to try them. A coloured window opened in the bottom right hand corner telling me that Biab could not locate any brass or woodwind instruments, therefore the style will not play correctly. I tried most of these new styles with the same results, flute, trumpet. sax etc. were missing. I tried the old (last year) styles & they are fine.
Once again I have to turn to you wonderful forum folk & ask for help......Hank

Hank, We need to know more about your version of BIAB. When you bought BIAB last year, what package did you get? (e.g. ProPak, MegaPak, etc.) Also, when you upgraded this year, what package did you get? Regards, Noel

Still trying to figure out the title of this thread? Oh wait, I get it.  One of two things going on here, First, RT Styles call-up Real Tracks. If you have not purchased the "full kit-and-kabodel" version of BIAB, it can be more than likely that you don't have these individual RTs. Of course, it may be that you have not properly installed what you paid for. I continue to be amazed at the number of folks who can't seem to download or install the files they have purchased. I am betting it is the first item here.

Sorry Music student but I think you are wrong in both cases. I have been installing Biab since it first came on the scene.All the horns play in the older 2017 files. & they are included in the mega pack. I am paying with Canadian funds which means my final price with 13% sales tax & shipping is about $135.00, so I buy the smallest version that will meet my needs. My computing is weak but I know my way around Biab!.....Happy New Year....Hank

Thanks for the extra information. I've just had a look around PG Music's website, and I've found the below webpage that lists those styles that come with the MegaPak (they have *2018* prefixed to them). http://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.packages.mega.htm#megacombosWhat I suggest is that you randomly select a few styles from this list with *2018* prefixed to them and then open up Style Picker, locate the style and see if it correctly includes the instruments. In Style Picke, I'd also look at some of the style that DO NOT have *2018* prefixed to them and see if they have missing Realtracks (which would be expected). I'm sorry but I don't know enough about the MegaPak to offer a great deal of help. If in doubt about anything to do with your package, sales@pgmusic.com would be able to help. Regards, Noel

The MegaPAK by itself doesn't come with any of the new 202 RealTracks instruments.. What's an example of a style (sty) you have that is giving you that message?
BTW the *2018* on that page doesn't mean that it's one of the new 202 RealTracks. It means an existing one that's been added to the MegaPAK package in Band-in-a-Box 2018 (compared with the Band-in-a-Box 2017 MegaPAK). We should clarify that on the page.

Thanks for the response. This involves all the new styles with band instruments such as trumpet named 2017/11. For example "ROULETE.STY". You say they are not included this year. That's OK, I have them in the earlier 2017 set, but I wonder, what are you going to drop off next year & why? .......Happy New Year...Hank

This has been covered in another thread
But as I recall the styles you see dated 2017 11
In fact are the styles for BIAB 2018 as it was released at the end of Nov this year.
So the styles have a 2017 Nov release date.
Therefore of course you don’t get them in BIAB 2017
As they are for BIAB 2018 but you still have to get the right upgrade to include them.

Hank, in addition to Mike’s clarification, you should know that to my knowledge PG Music has never ‘dropped off’ any style or sound. It might improve an old one, but never remove, just keep adding new ones.

I have the ultrapack 2018 plus the bonus free pack! This I have mentioned (I think) several times. All the new 2018 styles are labeled 2017/11, I have been told. Andrew posted that the horns, trumpets, flutes etc. were not included in the 2018 ultra pack. Though this was not mentioned in the including list on the purchasing page. So I guess that ends this discussion. I just wonder why the ultra pack has shrunk. The price is still the same. What will they not include next year?.....Hank

OK, glad we got that all clarified. NOT. Despite being thoroughly confused, I stick to my original premise If you have not purchased the "full kit-and-kabodel" version of BIAB, it can be more than likely that you don't have these individual RTs. But please don't try to explain it to me anymore, at my age I lose an IQ point each month so I have to be careful on how I use them up. My take away to anyone is, while you are working with BIAB - buy the "full kit-and-kabodel pack" and have fun.

My earlier answer to you and Andrew's answer to you were both based on this information that you had the MegaPak. If you have the UltraPak, that is a completely different story. This is the top of the range product and includes all new Realtracks and Realdrums that are not part of the bonus packages or add ons. Regards, Noel
