Why does it sometimes not allow you to change the number of bars per page shown in notation view? It seems to happen after you copy and past some of the bars. It gets stuck on 2 bars per page and won't change.
You should be able to change it with the following option. Does that not work?
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
I can see and definitely agree that it's not working for you.
I tried to create the same situation as you, with the same style, edit mode, clean mode, mono mode, etc.
How did you create the Melody?
It's working for me: Anybody?

I'm using Band-in-a-Box® for Windows Version 2018 (504)
I opened a new file and entered the notes by hand -- by clicking on the staff lines with my mouse. The third bar is the same as the first, so I used "copy - special" to copy the first bar to bar 3. After that it wouldn't let me change the number of bars per page. Closing the file and re-opening it doesn't help.
I did what you said, Noel, but it still won't change the number of bars in that song. Maybe I could send the file to one of you, to see if it works for you?
Thank you for sending the file. It helped a great deal.
The problem arises because you have a part marker every two bars and BIAB is set to break to a new line when part markers are involved.
This is normal behaviour and can be verified by deactivating the "New line for every section" found in "Display Options" (see graphic below).
To get more bars viewed on the screen while keeping the "New line for every section active", one approach would be to...
1. When the part markers are in place at every two bars, generate the song.
2. Now freeze all tracks.
3. Remove the blue part markers, except for bar 1 which is always present.
Because the tracks are frozen after generation and before the part markers are removed, the part markers will still play even though they are not present on the score.
I guess in hindsight that this would have a been a good one to have had a screen capture of the chord sheet as well.
Thanks again for the detective work!

I didn't mean to put the sections in. I wonder if the section marker got copied when I copied bar 1 to bar 3.
Yes. That's catches me out from time to time, too. Section markers are usually copied.
While it's possible to use "Edit | Copy Special | Copy from... to..." and deactivate 'Bar Settings' to avoid copying section markers, I find it is often quicker just to copy everything, part markers included, and then just remove the part markers.
All new updates to BIAB are announced at the top of the BIAB for PC or BIAB for Mac user forums as appropriate. They are always a sticky post (they stay at the top).
As to this, you should start a new thread: problem of the played note not turning red in lead sheet or fake sheet view.

Thanks! Are section markers what you need if the key changed in the middle of the song?
No. To change the key, select the bar and press Function key F5 (or right-click the bar), then change the key using the Bar Settings dialog:

. Part marker and key changes are independent, but there is a good reason to use them together. One of the things the part marker does is call for a fill in the measure before. It usually sounds good, and appropriate for a key change.

I am trying to enter the notes for a song that has a has a fill between key changes. Is there some way to indicate that the notes are a fill, and not to be played or sung? (I am making a "play along"). And is there a way of independently controlling the volume of the notes in the fill?
Another question. The part of the song after the fill is the same as the irst part of the song. If I copy the first part of the song into the second part, will it be transposed when I change the key? I want it to be transposed.
This forum has amazingly helpful people. I am so grateful.
