To further clarify what John means:

There are only two tracks in BIAB that allow us to enter our own notes and save them.

Those two tracks are the Melody or Soloist tracks.

All the other tracks are part of the *audoaccompaniment* that BIAB does, and thus each time you reload the song or hit the "Play" button, the Style file will regenerate its own accompaniment notes for those parts. Usually slightly different than what you had before, due to the way the Style file picks different patterns for the chords at different times.

I have used a MIDI keyboard to record my own Piano parts in BIAB quite a bit. To do this, I record to the Melody or Soloist track with the BB piano muted.

Then I use the "Save song with patches and harmony" command and in that window, I UNcheck the Piano part and check every other part. That way, when the song is reloaded, the Piano part won't be there on the Piano track, but your recorded MIDI piano will be there. You could use note-entry for that, but it will of course take a lot more time to do it. I prefer playing the keyboard in realtime because all of the subtle stuff we do will be recorded -- timing, velocity and touch response, pedal, etc.
