Hello, forum friends
This is my new rock tune suitable for highway drive.
The lyrics were written by Alt-H, whom I met on the website of Piapro, a vocaloid fan forum in Japan.
So I had to use a vocaloid on the vocal track.
It was written in 1980’s J-Pop style.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Summary of lyrics:

When we are driving the highway by the seaside
My heart is throbbing and I want to be taken to some place far away

The horizon continues endlessly
The sunlight reflected in a clear wave is dazzling

In those days we began to be attracted to each other
We often went for a drive like today

Now you and me let's throw away everything
And we will go this driveway endlessly

I feel excited more and more
If only you are by my side my heart will be beating up

We had forgotten the feelings at that time
Today we remember those passionate feelings

Now you and me let’s forget everything
And we will go this driveway endlessly

When the sunset dyes the sea orange
The two of us cannot go back anymore to the road we have come

Wonderful pop song, catchy melody with excellent chord progression - familiar elements followed by nice twists.

Great use of realtracks, that solo guitar fits nicely. Definitely has a fast driving mood, I can taste the cooling breeze on a convertible car.

Wow, great uplifting song, without even understanding the lyric...then, I read the lyric and it just added to the overall positive feel to this track.
I really liked the initial, repetitive melody sequence, with a changing harmony that is really interesting.
Loved the solo portion as well.
As I've said before, I regret that I don't understand Japanese to get all the subtle craftsmanship that is probably in the lyrics.
I want to get in my car, put the top down, and go on a scenic drive right now!!
Thanks Shigeki!

Shigeki Adachi,

Excellent Pop song.
Nice tracks. The solos sound good. The vocaloid works so well one forgets it is not "real".

Excellent mix. A terrific listen.

Animaro,

Killer guitar right out of the gates—pulls the listener right in; and it keeps on in the instrumental. Inviting melody on the chorus, and the vocals are very easy on the ear. And excellent production. You have a really great tune here . . . something to be proud of. Good luck with it!

All the best,

Deej

Hello, Tom

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am always very encouraged by your nice words.
I am really glad you like this tune.
I like composing method like repetitive melody sequence with a changing harmony.
And Jobim also often uses the same method.
I learned this method from past and contemporary great composers such as Jobim.
I much appreciate your comments about the lyrics.
I usually write melodies first, but this song was provided with lyrics beforehand and this melody was written by being inspired by the rhythm of the lyrics.

Best regards.
