I just ordered the biab 2010 and was informed that I just couldn't upgrade for the realtracks 67 - 82 and realdrums 27 -29 in a megapack, but had to upgrade to an ultrapack, because that's the only way I could get the new realtracks, as well as all the realtracks that I just purchased in September, or whenever biab 2009.5 came out... Had I known this, I would have waited till December.. Anyway, not horribly terrible, but I really don't need a hard drive with everything I already have...

I think you are maybe looking at this the wrong way. The RealTrack sets are $29 each. Times 3 that's $87. So you are really getting the BiaB upgrade for ($139-$87) $52. That's a VERY reasonable price.
When you look at it that way it's not a little disappointment, rather it's a whole lot of happy!

I'm a little ticked also, as far as I can tell. I just paid money for two of the RT Sets - Rock and Pop a couple of months ago. And now, as I understand it, I will get them included again in the 2010 UltraPlus PAK. So, that was a waste of money.
I wish there was a better way to do this.

I did the same thing. I bought the Rock Pak set #1 just about a month ago.
but when I bought it I thought it was worth it. why would I think it wasn't worth it now?
pgmusic has a cycle of distributing a new product at this time of year every year. that's predictable.
but how can they be expected to not accept your money because there's an eminent release with a better deal? they're in business to make money, not to give away stuff for free.
I wish I had waited and not bought the real pack when I did. but I do not think it's PG Music's fault that I spent money on a real pack when I could have waited and spent less money. hindsight is 20/20 and the cyclic updates have been predictable for years.

Yeah - just the EXACT reason why I wait for the official upgrades and not buy anything beforehand.

The 101 Realtracks + the new version of BB 2010 would be about 20GB as a separate upgrade, or 5 DVD's. This might not fit on a previous BB hard drive (if it was an 80GB one). The new ones are 160, and 80GB are used by the program and all RealTracks.

Sorry Peter but what exactly does DVDs and hard drives have to do with what we're talking about?
Perhaps you posted to the wrong thread.
Back on topic - I've learned my lesson. I doubt I will ever buy any 'extras' ever again. I'll just wait til full releases come out.

I think the current system at PG Music works just fine. They aren't locked into issuing an upgraded version around this time each year, although they have for several releases done so. To complain about buying a set or two of RealTracks a month or so ago now that the new versions are out isn't justified, in my humble opinion. I've bought sets of RTs as well, and then jumped up and down when I found out I could get them ALL for a bunch cheaper at some later time. With 82 sets out now (and growing no doubt), upgrading is still a very good deal. So you paid more than if you had waited. You wouldn't have had access to the RTs you did buy. You can play the what if game until the cows come home and never buy anything if that is what you want to do. You just won't have anything. Good job PG Music. Keep up the good work, and don't try fixing your system until it is broken. It is working just fine.

>>>Sorry Peter but what exactly does DVDs and hard drives have to do with what we're talking about?
The question was, why do we not make an upgrade specifically for people who have 2009 already, and only want ALL of the new stuff. My point is that, this would be a HUGE update, on about 5 DVD's. If people want that, we can make an update like that, for $99 (compared to $69 for the Mega update)
I think $139 for a 160GB HD is a better deal - open the box, plug it in, and start playing... but if there is interest in a Ultra 2009 to Ultra 2010 update ( on 5 DVD's) for $99, we could make that. See what others think...

Try getting that kind of response from Cakewalk or just about any other company in this arena.
Mr. Gannon, this is why your company just keeps on growing in user loyalty. I really appreciate a company that looks for opportunities to build on the relationship it has with end users. You are fast becoming my go to programs for about 90% of what i do.
I look forward to ordering the new stuff soon.

Well Peter, thanks for chiming in and offering that, it's definitely a good offer... And thanks everyone else for sharing their viewpoints... When I first posted this I had just hung up from the ordering department (I know, I didn't order online, I'm old fashioned)... At this point, I paid the money for the hard drive, it's not like I'm going to be losing sleep over this... But I definitely would have opted for the $99 dollar option if it was available... That's why I said, not horrible, just a little dissapointed..

Peter,
I think you should offer that $99 dollar option as well, considering the times and the financial situation for many.

I'm a little confused here. I ordered the Everything 2009.5 Pak last year because I wanted the lessons. I noticed that the upgrade to the Everything 2010 Pak is $159.00 and the next step down is $139.00.
If I order the $139.00 option will I be able to still use the educational series from the 2009.5 Pak? I would assume so.
What is new in the 2010 Everything Pak education wise?
Would the DVD upgrade for $99.00 include any new educational offerings - (I.E. lessons) In that case I would vote for the DVD upgrade.
Sorry for all the questions.

Yes, just be sure to install the new version right overtop of the old, the new will not overwrite anything you already have that it doesn't have. Not even your own songs.
I can't answer your other questions, the info ought to be on the webpage where all the different packages are offered, though.

my good friend Peter... I have just had to move to Rockledge, Florida, with my truck and 5th Wheel--- to a new RV Park (and I suffered monetarily from my "haste and waste" during a never-ending downpour;` when I thought my 25,000 trailer was ready to move--and it wasn't--the hitch failed, and it came crashing down on my Ford 350--bed and tailgate, wiping out the latter, and causing me some other problems...financial in nature!! If there is a possibility, as mentioned above, I would be very interested.. Thanks... Mike Cover Space Coast RV Park Florida [url=http://www.thegigbaby.com] 4

Peter,
would also prefer to have an "$99 option" as an e-delivering opportunity. 20Gb download are accetable in times of high speed internet.
Since I am a purchaser from abroad (europe) it would be helpfull not to have the relativly high shipping cost from Canada for the hardware. And as a second reason - my BIAB ist saved on an external HD with sufficient capacity - why should I buy another one?
Hope you can make a $99 upgrade from 2009+ possible - it would be brilliant
Bernd
