I enjoyed the listen. The song has a strong Gordon Lightfoot vibe, both in your vocal delivery, the chord changes, and the guitars. That's a good thing. Since you said all comments are welcome, I'll stupidly broach the usually taboo criticism of lyrics, and note that the first verse plays the pronoun game: Failed to cry when it broke my heart That doesn't mean it's not tearing me apartIn my 100% non-expert songwriting opinion, using nouns would give stronger lyrics: Failed to cry when you broke my heart That doesn't mean love's not tearing me apartOf course, I've got zero number one hits, so what do I know? Anyway, nice song - thanks for posting! Hey David, thanks for the thoughtful reply. I agree with your opinion on the noun/pronoun issue, and had I thought of it before I completed the song I probably would have changed it... However I'm also of the opinion that when it come to songwriting those rules really don't matter. By the way I have the same amount of #1 hits as you! hi Achordocaste love this lightfoot old humble pie sixties seventies feel however modern great work greg, cathy thanks for sharing eric F.M.M., Thank you for the nice words and the listen. Good song and well mixed. Sounds early seventies and that's a good thing to me. Credit both of you.Rob. Thanks Rob. Interesting to me how so many hear the early '70's sounds... since that's not something I was consciously trying to do.

Big time Gordon Lightfoot feel to the song. Loved the tremolo guitar and vibe of the whole tune. Loved the Tele licks during the "La La's". Very nicely done. Enjoyed it.

Really nice song - arrangement and track choices. The guitar work speaks for itself (it's really good!). And if I had a voice even half that good - sigh!
Used to live in Denver - got to Grand Junction a couple of time.
You and Kathy did a terrific job with this. The la-las near the end were great!

You nailed this one! It sounds sincere and lush, and the vocal delivery is powerful on this one. There are some really nice thought provoking lyrics here as well which helped push it along for me. That aside, it is quite catchy and has a wonderful groove. Nothing I'd change here - thanks so much for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

I got a Gordon Lightfoot feel from your singing, the kind of voice that makes any song better. Banjo was soft but effective. Nice job all the way around.
