RealTracks sets 78-82 are installed on my PC and all will generate tracks when selected yet when I try to audition many will cause my web browser to open and play it from the PG Music web page. I don't have the "Show RealTracks that are N/A" box checked so the RealTracks browser knows they are installed. Any suggestions how to correct this problem?

Hi Dave,
Where exactly are you in the program when you try to get a demo?
It works from the RealTracks window here, opens the demosong from disk.

In any song open in BiAB I left mouse click on an instrument like Guitar for example. I then select "Add/Remove RealTracks...". The "Assign RealTracks to Track" explorer pops up. I then select a RealTrack like "Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CountryWaltzGrittyArp Sw 110" on set 82 for example and then mouse click on "Audition (WMA)". After that it opens my web browser although that Realtrack is installed on my system. I can even select to generate that RealTrack and it plays fine but I just cannot audition it. All my other RealTracks audition just fine except most of the RealTracks on sets 78-82.

Okay, just tried that.
Here, it opens my Windows Media Player and the flashing yellow/blue message window overlays with "C:\bb\Realtracks - Demos\name-of-songfile".
Maybe you haven't done a complete install of everything yet, due to downloader or something, and the program knows to go online if the file is not found on your drive?
Anyway, I just loaded at least ten demo's that way, using the Audition button, and can't duplicate it here. I thought that maybe the newer RealTracks weren't working as they should, so I tried some from the new pop piano, northern rock, hardrockwaltz, they all work from C drive here.

Okay thanks Mac. I installed the RealTracks on both my notebook and desktop and have the same problem on both. Both have Windows 7 but the desktop is 64bit and the notebook 32bit. I will try reinstalling those RealTracks I am having trouble with. I downloaded the files and can't imagine they were corrupted otherwise I guess they would not have installed.

Oh OK, I see the question now. You are pressing the Audition button in the RealTracks Assign dialog. If you don't have the RT installed, it will play from the web, For example, for RT 904 (SmoothCool), it plays this if you don't have it installed ... http://64.40.109.185/pgmusic/audio/realtracksdemos/904solo.wmaI'd check again to see if you have that RT installed. Does the RT name say "Piano, Electric Rhythm, Smooth Cool" or "N/A Piano, Electric Rhythm, Smooth Cool" . If it is N/A, then they aren't installed.

Or-- They may be installed somewhere other than the default location where BB is looking for them.
The RealTracks control panel can be used to browse and point to where they are living, if that is the case.

Thanks Andrew. Glad you found the problem. It is not a show stopper and I can work around the problem especially since the RealTracks now generate so much faster. It is not too difficult to generate and if I don't like it then select another RealTrack to generate. The RealTracks that cannot audition except from playing them from the PG website are definitely installed in the correct directory and they don't show "N/A" as Peter mentioned. I know they are installed and working correctly because they will actually generate the selected RealTrack and replace the MIDI track in the song I am working on. They just cannot be auditioned. Strange that Mac could not duplicate this on his PC. Maybe the problem is OS specific. I am using Windows 7 and install in the default directory (C:\BB).

I was wondering if it might be the Win7 difference also.
But I cannot be sure because I'm still using the folder I used during beta testing and we had to download and install so many files overtop of files that maybe one of those files worked and still is.
They''ll fix it.
