OK, I have spent that last few days downloading files so I can get started using BiaB, So far I am up to RT 39 with only a few bad RT downloads (I will write a letter to support after this one) Most of today I have spent going thru the RT styles, and have notice that on almost every one of the slower styles, 85bpm & lower, that there is a lot of double hits on the snare & kick drums. For those who are familiar with loops, it sounds like a bad edit on the starting edge. I have only noticed this on the 1's & the first "ands" of a section, only on the slower style's, and only on the drums....it is distracting for sure. It seems to be random, in that it happens on different feels for the drums.....when the same Kick-Snare_HH part comes around it might do it, and then it might not. The systems was de-fragged before I started loading the program, and has been de-fragged every 10 RT installs. So far I have turned off the fast loading, raised & dropped various settings for the Delta cards, switched video settings, made sure everything else was turned on - turned off, etc and it still does this. I will try to capture a few bits of it later tonight. In the mean time, has anyone else noticed this? ===== My system specs.... Hi,
I haven't noticed something like that here.
Doesn't mean it isn't happening, though.
Yes, by all means if you can capture some recorded examples and post the url to them here, it is like the visual picture that could say a thousand words.

I had a problem with both Realdrums and Midi drums playing at the same time. To diagnose: Click on Midi Monitor button and see if there are any midi notes being sent on channel 10 To fix: Preferences - Count in Metronome - Audible metronome ( should be on record only or none) Hope this fixes it for you. Hey the_blooze, good tip, but I have done that, and also totally disabled-removed any reference to any Midi tracks, synths, etc....i also removed the VSC synth from the system & did a reg clean afterwords, and disabled the MS synth......it is a strange one for sure. Still grabbing files at the moment, when dinner is over I will go & start trying to grab some audio examples....

Hi,
Audio sample would be good - but also we'll want to know the exact drum style (including tempo) being used for that song - it tells you this in the title bar at the top of the screen while the song is playing.

(Andrew-I am sorry, but I just got done editing the files & typing this up after closing the program, so I can not give you the exact drum set, but all the tunes are Demos from the Master List....)OK folks, here are 3 examples of the glitch I mention above. These are 3 glitches from a random selection of 6 demo songs from the Master Style List. http://www.filesavr.com/biab-drumglitchdemos12-13-09.wav files, 6mb download. The files are edited down to focus on the glitch itself. Below are the times where the glitch occurs in each file. BALABP Demo - :10sec DELTASL - :15sec TRAV Demo - :15sec, :34sec These glitch's are on the Kick Drum. I would sit down and find some more, but I want to play with my new program! Maybe after I have it for a few I will go thru and document some more, but this should show what I mean. I hope this helps!

Bad file.
The full filename reads, "BiaB-Drum Glitch Demos 12-13-09.7z" after downloading here.

OK, try this one..... http://www.filesavr.com/biab-drumglitchdemos12-13-09_1It is a little larger at 7.3mb. I just uploaded & downloaded it and it unzipped & played fine. Let me know if you have a problem with this one!

Hi JCS, Thanks for sending the files. Does it only happen when the drums are stretched to a slower tempo than their native tempo.
The native tempo is displayed in the title bar at the top of the window. eg. BossaBrushes 120

OK Andrew, I will try these styles out again tonight. I received my HDD today and just got done loading it, so we will see if it might have been a slightly corrupted download. Peter, I did not do anything to the files I posted except play them, so I am not sure if the drums were stretched or not...I will also check this later tonight!

OK, tried the same styles out before I loaded the patch, and no glitch. I ran thru a ton of demos and had some on both the drums & bass (exact same sound on both, just like I posted), but not the same ones.
What I will do is after I am done checking the program out, I will sit here with a pad and when one pops up I will take notes that include ALL the info that you have asked for.
OK, back to running thru some features!

Not a real good idea to zip pcm audio files.
If you must compress filesize, use Monkey's Audio or maybe Ogg Vorbis.
For the purpose of demonstrating these things here, it is perfectly fine to convert to 128 mp3 files to reduce filesize for webstreaming. They'll still be able to hear the doublehits.

Why?
And I usually use Flac for most of my collabs & file sharing with folks to keep the audio quality up & file size down, but Monkeys Audio works great also!
If Andrew & Peter will let me know what format they would like, I will be more than happy to oblige!

Its been years, but the jist of it is that we couldn't get bit-for-bit comparisons at all after the zip and unzip routine. That's why those Audio specialty compression programs got started into existence in the first place. Along the way, they learned how to even make the filesizes smaller for audio .wav files than zip can do.
Flac is good, too.
But again, you don't need to do all that at all.
I've submitted those 128kbps mp3 files using the LAME encoder to pgmusic during the beta tests for years. It is plenty good enough for this kind of work, plus the advantage of direct webstreaming means the developers, whom are already as busy as can be, don't have to jump through hoops of fire in order to just hear the example.
