I prepare with the last version of BIAB, Fats Waller: Ain't Misbehavin', the version where the tempo changes from 88 to 192 and back to 88. For a jazz standard and guitar track, I will choose a Freddie Green Real Track among sw060, sw085, sw110, sw140. At measure where tempo doubles, I hit F5 to do that, but how to switch the realguitar from 085 to 140 ?
Here is what I did: I put sw085 on the guitar track and sw140 on the string track, and when I change tempo I mute one track and back to normal the other track.
Another little problem, the max limit of sw140 is tempo 160, and I need to reach 192 ... Here is what I did: when I import the project, midi and real stuff in the sequencer, I used a desser plugin on the Freddie Green real tracks to attenuate some noises induced by the out of range tempo.
As I used 2 different tracks in BIAB and sequencer, I finish by creating different presets in my sequencer for the desser plugin like Fred060 if generated by sw060 Fred RealTrack, and so on
Does it exist a better or simpler method ?

That is the way to do it. We can't change a RealTrack to another in midstream on the same track. At least, not with this version.

From that, I take it that you must not be using the new BiaB2010 version. There is a new feature, "halftime and doubletime realtracks" that allows us to use RealTracks that are a lot farther out of their Tempo range without the artifacts now. You used a great workaround to get the job done, though, and I think you should be commended for that. My kinda thinking. "Git-R-Done!"

Any method that gets the job done with good sounding results is the "better" method. You might find things to go a bit simpler with the BB2010 upgrade, though.

Thanks Mac. In fact, this year I used BIAB 2009.5 on Apple iMac version. I hesitate and ask myself once more to return to Windows version. It seems that windows versions are updated nearly each year, maybe twice a year, and Mac versions .... from time to time. As I still have Parallels on my system, it seems that the new hard drive is OK. I generate midi and audio files on XP side, and import them in Digital Performer to end the process by recording myself. I should prefer to stay on the Mac side. I cannot pay the new releases of both versions, and if I buy the PC version, you loose a Mac version and if other people do the same, ....why PG would continue with Mac version? The day where I need to renew my iMac, the price of parallels + Windows xxx license risk to exceed the price of a new netbook,.... So for a Mac user, to upgrade or not to upgrade (for Win 2010 version), that is the question ?

My studio was all Mac oriented until the fall of '98.
That is when I "bit the bullet" and picked up the parts to build a Windows machine.
I still run both Macintosh AND Windows platforms, together, all talking to each other on the same network.
This allows me to pick the tool that does the job better or easier or maybe one has a software that the other doesn't have available, etc.
PCs are so doggone cheap these days, you may just consider that option, pick up one. Even those little "notebook" smaller laptops with the Atom processors for under $300 mark and sometimes under $200 have been getting great reports about how well they run BiaB for Windows with the USB drives being shipped now.
But I like the desktop computer for that, because I can do things like use S/PDIF between Mac and PC soundcards for transfer sometimes. You don't really need that, though. I use Audaciy to change .wav files to AIFF and back as needed when working cross-platform.
But whaddo I know. There's still a fully working Atari in this studio, too. And just for running one of the greatest and best MIDI programs of all time, Bars 'n Pipes. Still comes in handy from time to time and does things to MIDI files that no other program I know of can do. Plus easy to write custom scripting for doing batches.
