I did the update this morning. If I go to the

\bb\realtracks\Guitar, Electric, Rhythm CountryWaltzGrittyA-B Sw 085\ I still see the dates as 10/08/2009 -- does that mean the update didn't go OK, or are the dates unchanged?

Anyone else do the update for thr RT's (it was the 70MB file)? If so, did your date stamp change inside any of the real track folders?

Thanks in advance,

Kevin

Hello Kevin,

The audio files don't need to be updated for that, only the RealTracks database (ST2 file)

Did a clean install of BIAB 2010 and upgraded to build 292 on my XP system. Real Tracks still drop out after the 4th measure. Now if I enable PG Reverb in the Realtime Audio DX Setting and leave it bypassed, the programs works fine.

However build 295 does not fix the drop out problem in XP

Jean-Guy,
1. Choose the VSC-DXi synth (Options-MIDI Drivers dialog, select Use DXi synth, and then chose VSC DXi).
Then exit the dialog, play a song, and it should work. You can turn VSC DXi off then (by simply de-selecting the checkbox, dont revisit the DXi dialog)

If that doesn't work, 2. disable Prefs-RealTracks-Speedup RealTracks.

JcLand,
Same advice would apply (select DXi synth), but your message states "the programs works fine" and "build 295 does not fix". Not sure which is applicable (esp. since the latest build is 292), but if you do the step above, it should work fine. Dont disable the audio plugins, if you do, you are defeating the fix that appeared in 292 - and would need to do the steps above (VSC Dxi synth).

Have Fun!

Will the 2010 version update over 2008.5 or has it got to be 2009

Try right clicking on the instrument that is not playing after a few bars and click on "regenerate this track". Later, Ray

After installing the updates on my Windows XP Pro machine with 2 GB RAM and an Intel Celeron 2.2 GHz, my arrangements would stutter, skip, or stop. While the arrangement was playing, if I clicked on anything with my mouse, there would be no response from the computer for 10-20 seconds while the arrangement continue to stutter. I tried adjusting the latency setting, the DXi settings, and the audio driver settings to no avail.

After reading this thread, I turned off the 'Speed up generation of Real Tracks' under Opt.-Preferences-Real Tracks. Everything seems to be working. Thanks for the tip!

You may find that if you turn that back on now, everything will continue to work just fine -- and you will also be able to enjoy the fast RealTracks loading times.

Evidently toggling that thing changes something that makes it all work right...

The BIAB HD works fine. I set up a backup copy on an external HD. Playback of files on the backup HD work fine as long as I have the "speed up regeneration of real tracks" unchecked. In the backup copy I can't use the speed up feature. Is there a fix for this? I have the latest updates installed. Later, Ray

P.S. I'm using Real Tracks only. The BIAB HD files are dropping out now. I have to uncheck the speed up feature for proper playback.

Try a defrag on that drive, whether microsoft thinks it needs it or not.

Good idea to defrag your C: drive, too.

I am not sure what patch I need for realtracks and realdrums. I am thinking 2b although I have never down loaded "2" yet. I currently am running 2010 with build 292.

Thanks for any advise,

Possible issue with the update for RTs 67-82 and RDs 27-29 dated 22 Dec? Issue reveals itself if you run verify after doing this 22 Dec update. The affected RT’s are all in:

“Acoustic, Solo-Accompaniment PopLiverpool Ev 065”

And all the offending BTO’s are dated 11/25/09 as compared to the newer 12/7/09 BTOs in same directory which do not report any errors (when "verified" against the updated (12/7/09) RPno0028.ST2 file).

This could be ME somehow but I have this issue with TWO different copies of BIAB and RT/RDs each from a different source: one from the replacement HDD which arrived this week while I was gone and one BIAB installation completely installed from Web downloads.

HDD – reported it was BIAB version 291. Before doign anything else I COPIED the entire 160GB HDD to another external 2TB HDD. Then I ran the BIAB version 292 update (dated 22 Dec) and RB 2b update. Ran the RT “verify” and everything was OK.

Then I ran the 22 Dec RT-RD update and re-ran verify and got the following errors ( I only include one example but this repeats for all BTO’s 581 thorough 595 of RealTracks 891, 892 and 893 all for RT set 70):

“ERROR: RealTracks # 891(Set #70) bt0 type for RPno0028.ST2= 3 bt0 type for D:\Music\BB\RealTracks\Piano, Acoustic, Solo-Accompaniment PopLiverpool Ev 065\pn0581+1.bt0= 7”

The dates of the offending RT BTO files are Nov 25 (11/25/09) while the remaining BTO files in that RT folder are dated Dec 7 (12/7/09).

On the separately installed BIAB (all from web downloads) also using a different copy of the 22 Dec RT update I get the identical errors.

I think that the update simply missed a small number of BTO files in the Set 70?

If I am the only one with this issue plesae let me know

Thank you

PS Happy New year all

Larry

The dates of the offending RT BTO files are Nov 25 (11/25/09) while the remaining BTO files in that RT folder are dated Dec 7 (12/7/09).

Confirmed, exact same observation here. I can generate a track with that instrument, so not clear whether the error report is a false positive, or whether the bto data really are outdated. Either way, hope the next patch takes care of it.

I can't get any realtracks to work at all. They were fine when I first installed 2010 on my AMD64 X2 +4200 dual core Windows XP Pro 32bit machine. Then after a couple days of use, one of the songs I wrote wouldn't load with a violation access error and now I can't load and play any style that has RealTracks and/or RealDrums in them. The build I have is 292 and yes, I have defragged and optimize and restored to factory settings until I'm blue in the face. As far as I can tell, I have not access to any of BiaB that uses RealTracks or RealDrums.

I'm happy to say the old midi styles are functioning perfectly.
