It may help to activate Triplet Resolution in the Notation Options. At positions where even resolution is required appropriate resolution settings may be set via the timeline. At times the notation tends to create artefacts here, such as unmotivated slur lines -> still some bugs in the S/W.

I think maybe people aren't taking the time to use the resources available and LEARN HOW PGMUSIC NOTATION WORKS.
The FAQ page might help.
Plus a bit of a workout with it, learning how fast it is, how it does it, rather than trying to make it work the way you think it works.
It is superb in concept and very fast to use once you understand it.

Thanks Martin. I apolgise for not explaining myself fully in the first instance. To be honest, I didn't want to face all the typing! Here's the full story... The problem that arises for me is that I often write melodies in even time (with EV 16 styles) using patterns involving dotted 1/8 notes and 1/16h notes. EV 16-beat styles work perfectly with this (so do EV 8-beat styles). Then, for melodic emphasis, every now and then, I write 1/4 notes triplets figures in one of the above songs. Triplet resolution will resolve the triplets but wreck the 1/16 note pattern. Not having triplet resolution resolves the 1/16th note patterns but wrecks the triplets. I have tried setting notes in piano roll mode and snapping them to their proper positions, adjusting the individual resolution of the beats, changing the order in which I do things. To date, I have not stumbled on a solution that works for both 1/16th notes and 1/4 note triplets. I point out that this is only notation. Musically, everything plays perfectly. As I said in my earlier post, notation in BIAB suits me generally and, as it's not the reason that I bought BIAB, I'm not fussed. I mention this just so that PGMusic can investigate it if they intend to update the notation side of things. Quote:
It [BIAB notation] is superb in concept and very fast to use once you understand it.
I totally agree Mac.

Just a thought I seem to remember that BIAB will allow you to do triplets on notes 1 & 2 or 3 & 4, but it seems not to do triplets 2 &3
Could this be your problem?

Hi Dave,
Thanks for having a look at it. I only ever write 1/4 note triplets across 1 & 2 or 3 & 4. As I said, though, it's not an issue for me. If I needed to provide an accurate lead sheet, I'd import a BIAB midi file into Encore and all would be well.
Regards, Noel

Right clicking on the time line allows adjusting the bar resolution. Setting the bar resolution to 4,say, brings the 1/16 note pattern back to shape whereas the overall triplet resolution setting takes care of the quarter note triplets. It works most of the time.
Somewhat clumsy and provides certainly some incentive for PG Music to look it over.

Thanks Martin. I'll have a play around with that. Bar resolution was not something that occurred to me.

Just wanted to get my two cents in here again for updates and fixes to the Notation portion of BIAB. Peter does acknowledge the fact that nothing has been done for a while, and with an expected new release around Christmas if history is anything to go by, I hope we can get fake sheets that work all the time.
As I have said before, I am not a user of Real Tracks / Real Drums, midi, or any of the wonderful add ons to BIAB. I just want it as a simple backing track with good printed notation. I am heavily invested in BIAB in terms of a song library so switching to another program is highly unlikely. I just would like PGMusic to fix the notation so I can be proud of the fake sheets I use
