Everything has been going smoothly even after I upgraded from 2009.5 to 2010 latest build the other day. Unfortunately, something happened today. On one particular song I created and saved, the song now always locks up by the 6th bar. It sounds like it is about to transition to the 7th bar when it happens. I don't have any other songs having this problem. BiaB becomes unresponsive when this lockup happens. I have to kill the BiaB process from the windows task manager to recover. I can use the same style at the same BPM in a new song without any issue. Can someone else check to see if this fails to run for them? Any ideas why this is happening? I've uploaded the file to one of my websites: http://www.twotongames.com/music/problem%20file.SGU Thank you. (I'm also having a problem with Rendering to a .WAV file not working anymore since upgrade, but I'll post about that later.) System: Using the AudioPhile version running from the HD. Windows XP

The file played fine for me in the non-Audiophile version. Try loading in the song, and then double clicking on some bar after bar 6 (say bar 10). This will start the song from that bar. See if it manages to play past bar 16.

Song is playing fine here also as I type this.
So my guess is that it is not a corrupted songfile.
You might check the two realtracks involved on your hard drive, see if they play from end to end using a media player, for one thing.
Song has finished playing here, all the way to the end. And since you must have had the Loop checked when you saved, it started over from the beginning again. At bar 22 now.
A real head scratcher, try rebooting your computer and check it again. Maybe...

Thanks for the feedback. I tried everything, but was unable to get it to work. I couldn't find the realtracks on the hard drive (not that they are not there, but I just don't know how to find them based on a style).
As I mentioned, when creating a new song with the same style, everything works. So, I just dumped the info to midi, re-imported, applied the style, and it all works. I'm not sure why, but that one version of the song I had didn't work on my PC. Strangely, it did on yours.
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions. Hopefully, this issue is a rare occurrence.

I think it has something to do with using the new shots and holds that I installed with the version 2010 upgrade. realtracks_shots_holds_1.exe realtracks_shots_holds_2.exe
When I add a chord like so, "D..." eventually, that will freeze BiaB.

When a freeze occurred in earlier testing, it made a difference where the song was at the time.
In my case, it was pushes, not shots, and only after a one-beat rest. If I stopped the song before the push, I could stop it normally. After the song had played the push, trying to stop it would cause a freeze at the next keystroke or click. Does that sound anything like what you are experiencing?

It sounds like your issue was different than mine (maybe related though).
The application would hang without me doing anything. The push/shot was at the end of the song. The song would hang at the beginning (1/5th of the way through). It would consistently stop at the same spot ... until I muted one of the realtracks, then it went a little longer.
