Hi,
I wanted to insert 4 blank measures into my arrangement. I selected the respective bar in the chord sheet and chose Edit > Insert measure(s) - but nothing happened.
Am I supposed to see a dialog where I can enter the number of measures to insert? I tried selecting the chord sheet range I wanted to insert measures to, but that didn't work either. No measures were inserted.
How is this command supposed to work (the manual does not tell much here), and what am I doing wrong?

You are supposed to see a little dialog window that allows you to enter the number of bars past the one selected bar that you want to do the Insert from.

Thanks. Unfortunately, I don't get this dialog in the version I have (see sig - I assume that is the latest one? I am running OS X 10.5.8 on a Mac Pro).
What I managed to do is that after re-launching BIAB, I can now at least select a range of bars, then select Edit > Insert measure(s), and for the selected range, new bars are inserted.
I also found that basic editing operations in the chord sheet sometimes seem to fail for no reason, with the bar selection marker jumping to a different place after a paste operation. Re-starting BIAB often fixes this behaviour for the next 5 to 10 operations, then BIAB again starts to act unpredictably when working with cut/copy/insert/delete operations in the chord sheet. Does anyone else notice this?

I think the program is a resource hog in some respects, or really, just not handling certain things as cleanly as it could/should. I have no scientific or empirically measured basis for that assumption, natch. S.W.A.G. and all that <G>
So I've gottne into the habit of doing something and then doing a Save, or better yet, a SaveAs and renaming my songfiles slightly as I work them up.
mysong
mysong01
mysong02
etc.
Which makes it like having "unlimited redos" in case something goes wrong. For example, if the songfile should become corrupted at some point, I won't have to start over again from scratch, just go back one song version and load that one up and try again.

I had this situation just yesterday "Insert Measure" would only get me one measure at a time. I seems like previous versions allowed setting the number of measures to be inserted, but I may be mistaken. After reading your post I tried again to insert several measures and accomplished it by highlighting the number of measures you want inserted and then going to "Insert Measure" command. It does work.

Just highlight the number of bars you wont inserted and press cmd+I and the same number of empty bars will be inserted. (But Edit/Insert measure only gives you the one Bar...) - did I understand you correctly?
(I just tried it on the MacBook, SL, BIAB 2009.5)
