With XP, more ram is always a good thing all the way around.
There's a limit to how much ram the system can use, someone will likely come along with that confusion to add to the mix, but I doubt the netbook can handle more than 2g anyway.
Also, it is very likely that youyr onboard video is sharing the ram, too.
Mac sez, "Mo' ram is mo' bettuh!"
For 50 bucks the added ram would be a worthwhile thing to have in any circumstance, whether you were running BB or not.
I say go for it.
