I've talked to tech support and the first person was nice and tried multiple things but ultimately couldn't fix the problem. Said I was in the queue to talk to a higher up tech. Called again last week. "We're busy." It's been a week, still no email or call.

Anybody have a workaround for this issue? I'm trying to get the song into Cubase. My method was to render to wav and then open in Cubase. The wav file ends up having pitchy notes, particularly the midi piano (or atleast that is what seems most obvious). I've tried RealBand but I can't seem to get the program to upload all the tracks, or if it does, it only plays one, even though the others aren't muted.

I need to get this figured out before the trial is up or I am sending it back. Thanks for everyone's help.

In Realband you may have the 'solo' button enabled, causing you to hear only one track - look for the 'S' icon by the style selection area.

The midi piano sound is played by whatever synth you have installed on your system, if it is 'pitchy' try another synth or another patch for a better piano sound. The program probably defaulted to the Wavetable synth from MS. If you are running a 32 bit system may have better luck with the VSC that comes with the program.

Or possibly do you have the chorus effect turned up on the piano? That would cause out of pitch too

I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

What DXi or VST synth are you using? Roland VSC, Forte or ?

I figured out what is happening. The realtrack (guitar) is playing the two-bar intro when I render. The other three midi tracks are not!!! I have the intro bars set to be the C section, as indicated in the book.

Any idea why the midi instruments are not playing the intro bars?

To answer the other questions, I am on a 64 bit computer running 32 bit XP. The solo button in RealBand is not selected. In RB, the EQ lights show that the tracks are playing but nothing plays.

I am using the VSC DXi.

Aha, I think your problem is that VSC DXi does not work on a 64 bit machine. Try the Coyote Forte which works on 64 bit machines.

Hi Ricky,

Firstly, VSC/DXi is operating-system dependent and not computer-architecture dependent. The fact that your computer is 64 bits does not affect the VSC/DXi since you are running a 32-bit operating system. VSC/DXi will work flawlessly for you.

Secondly, in your BIAB song, does the chord view have any red chords with dots after them?

Lastly, You mention "like in the book" can you tell me which book so I can have a look (if I have it).

Regards,
Noel

Thanks for the thought. The tech guy checked that and said it was okay with a 64-bit computer, just not a 64-bit operating system. Since I am using 32-bit XP, I should be okay. BUT, I changed it anyway and rendered twice and got the same result. The midi instruments are still not playing the first two bars of the song.

Note: Noel beat me to the punch. :-) Thanks Noel.

Regardless, I still am missing two bars and then I get 3 minutes of dead space at the end of rendered songs. This is making me insane.

In RB check the 'options-preferences-midi devices' and make sure the VSC DXi is selected then try checking the box saying to 'reroute all midi to default DXi synth'

Thanks rharv!!! That did the trick. Now they play in realband. Now if I could just get them to render correctly to wav, I will be on my way. :-)

Have you checked that the audio settings are right? Bit rate etc..perhaps someone else who's had that issue or remembers it can jump in. Is it supposed to be 44.1?

Figured it out thanks to Noel96. I had to check the box to include two lead in bars. Not sure why but that made the first two bars of midi render correctly. Funny thing is I had to take out the two seconds of lead out to prevent the 3 minutes of dead space I was getting at the end of the song.

For now it is working. Thanks to everyone for your help.

The lead in bars thing changed this version. I forgot that . It drove me nuts for a couple of days. The folk songs folder I use a lot, and I noticed none of the lead in bars were working. I forgot I fixed that. In the settings. Why the default changed I have no idea. That might be a bug.

Then again my wife told me last night she was going to the store. I went looking for her twice, and noticed the car was gone. Geez I hate getting old. I need to read a text book again and see if I still remember what page stuff is on. If my memory is bad the idea of taking courses at university for free in 2011 is out. (You don't have to pay once your are 60). I want to take some courses at the music faculty.)

I'm convinced that the real reason we suddenly don't have to pay to take a lot of courses is that they know we won't be able to remember 'em anyhow.

Was recently informed that in a few more years, my fishing licenses will be free.

They know that I'll be sleepin' instead of catchin' fish...

Hey it's cheaper to take your parents to the show than your grandchildren.

Weird. Of course I've seen 2 movies. Sound of Music. Mom made me go. And Mash. Oh I went to Harry Potter with my wife's family but snored through it.

Just opened a new theatre my 21 year old son goes to. Lazy Boys. A table beside you. Waitresses. Beer...(that's why he's there..) $5 bucks more than the regular place. Sigh.

Yes, it`s free for you (also strangers don`t have to pay!). I get paid by the conservatory and they get their money from the state.
In Austria it is a RIGHT for everyone to study. Not only the rich, but also the poor!
