Well we probably should make this a Sticky so it stays on the top of the OT forum since there are so many aging musicians with this aliment.

I have shared my wooes regarding my deformed arthritic little finger on my fretting hand. My doc refered me to a specialist who deals with head surgery for musicians. He suggested we could remove the joint and rebuild the finger (like the bionic-man). No insuruance for that at this time, although Obama-care may make it feasible shortly.

It only hurts when I play long, and It has taught me to find alternate (simpler) voicings for some chords. I am going to give some of these concocktions a try.
