Hi Guys

Here is a song that everyone knows but played slightly differently.

The Backing was purchased from a guy in Australia - mixing was by our friend
Skyline (John).

Comments welcome as always - Have a Nice Day - Enjoy The Weekend.

Thanks For Listening

Alan

Alan. That's super sounding Mate. Good on ya. It's as pro sounding as anything I've ever heard. I sure hope you're playing professionally somewhere. That sound is too good to waste and not get paid for it.

Alan,
The playing was superb, as always. However, as usual, I find your music 'mono.' I have five speakers above my head, two for my mix monitoring, and three for my stereo receiver with is plugged into the computer giving me 7.1 surround. I actually, for a while, forgot that the receiver isn't working, and that the sound I was hearing was not coming from the center speaker. Oh, the strings I could tell were coming from both sides, but the drums, bass, and everything else comes from that center speaker...or so it seemed.

I don't know if this is because the backing tracks that you buy are poorly mixed by the person who sells them, and nothing but a single stereo file, or if they are just that way because there are multiple files, and they aren't panned by you.

This is the largest issue I have with your music. If you can utilize the sound stage, and move people out and about, your music would be perfect.

Gary

Alan,
I've been trying to find a Real Tracks feel that will show you what I'm speaking of, but until I can get everything put back together, all my patches downloaded and installed, and Sonar up and running again, I'm afraid that I can't help you.

Again, there isn't anything wrong with the song, it's the backing tracks you buy, and I think you can do just as well, if not better, using Band In A Box with Real Tracks to generate the backing tracks. Plus, you'll have full control of those tracks, as well instead of being limited to what whomever created the tracks in the first place says you have to play.

Until later,

Gary

Hi Guys

Many thanks for the kind comments,I am pleased you like the track.

Gary
I do appreciate your comments regarding the "Stereo" effect,or lack of it but,in my defense I must say that I have absolutely
no control over tracks programmed by others.
At the moment,my guitar is Mono,my Wife bought me a Vox Heritage Hand Wired amp for Christmas, and I am running it through a Weber MiniMass
Attenuator, using the Line Out as the source because the neighbours don't appreciate music, except when it's their own.

Regarding your comments about BIAB and Real Tracks,I am ashamed to say I have lost the plot when it comes to understanding how to use it.
There is no doubting the programme's versatility, just my inability to keep up with the developments.

Once again, thank you for your comments,I'll be back.

Alan

Alan,
I actually found a BIAB song for Country Roads, and I have tried putting it to some country Real Tracks, and it doesn't sound too bad. Of course, with that, I can control the pan and sound stage. However, my computer suffered an 'IDIOT EFFECT' a week or so ago, and I'm now waiting for my copy of Windows 7 to arrive so that I can reinstall Windows. At that point, I will go ahead and reinstall my music software, Sonar, etc.

Your playing is so professional, so good, so absolutely amazing that I stand in awe of it. And then I hear those backing tracks, and I want to pull my hair out because those, not you in anyway, detract from your musicianship, it drives me nuts.

You are truly a professional musician, and your style of music is 'air ready', IMHO. Combined with other musicians like yourself, whether live or recorded, you would have a great band. For that reason, and that reason alone, is why I comment the way I do, it's that one simple step that would vault your recordings over the top.

As to Band In A Box and Real Band, maybe John could help you work them out, if you wanted to.

Respects,

Gary

Great guitar playing and great sound as usual. Intro sounds like it could've been played by Mark Knopfler.

I didn't like the all-MIDI backing-tracks though. Your playing is in a complete different league, those backing tracks just don't do you justice. Couldn't you import the MIDI in RealBand and replace the MIDI with RT's?

Great playing man, great playing.

Great, Alan! Well done, John!

This sounds as professional as ANY instrumental version of this track as I have EVER heard.

Well done, both of you!

If you want to listen to a really rough version of this played live in front of a band of Hell's Angels (with one of them acting as a mic stand) check this out! Watch the lead church guy in the background!

Never having played for a bunch of Hell's Angels before, I was scared out of my wits! And I am primarily a singer, not a guitarist...
