Robert,

Thank you very much for taking the time to listen and comment.
I am really glad you like this tune, the arrangement and the vocalist.

I misspelled the VST instrument playing the accordion.
Ethnosphere is correct.
It is a VST instrument specialized in the sounds of various ethnic instruments.
It was released more than 15 years ago and does not work on the current Macintosh.
However, since it has very good tones, when it is necessary, I operate it on Windows 7 to render to a WAV file and import it to the Macintosh.

I am always very encouraged by your kind words.

Best regards.

Dear Shigeki & and Ms. 'Yoko K.'...

Listening to My Next Love caused me to ask myself this question: if I could use only a single word to describe the sound, the feel, and the musical texture of your productions, that word would be...elegance.

Your songs nearly always possess a polish, a sheen, of the kind that a furniture-maker would lavish upon the finish of the wood that becomes the one-of-a-kind chair produced with his/her skillful hands.

The floating, firm and steady swing tempo of this song, accompanied by the spare, romantic-sounding piano fills, the stylish walk of the bass notes, and the leisurely brushwork of the drums, is perfect for the 'French Chanson feel' you were after. And, as usual, your strings section arrangement is the silken thread that winds through the set like a woman's scarf carried aloft by a breeze. The accordion doesn't sound anything like a so-called 'virtual instrument' -- it has the sound of a live musical presence in your artful hands. The electric guitar solo performed by your Yamaha teacher is a fine example of how a musical instrument can be made to 'speak' to a listener.

Ms. Yoko K., your vocal performance sounds absolutely effortless, though I presume it's the result of years of instruction and practice, practice, and even more practice. May I ask which singers you consider the most inspirational?

There is very little 'jazz' music posted to the forum, which is nowhere near a complaint, but just an observation. There is way too much excellently-produced music in all generes posted there to lament the dearth of jazz compositions. Nonetheless, Shigeki, your productions are helping to keep the jazz/big-band flame burning brightly, and that's especially true as Band-in-a-Box expands and refines its jazz styles and Real Tracks.

LOREN

こんにちは Shigeki Adachi.

You've done it again!!!

What a spectacular composition, arrangement and orchestration. The song stopped playing about 5 minutes ago and I'm still sitting thinking, "Gosh that was good! How does he manage to create such beautiful music?"

You certainly know how to take a style, in this case the Chanson style that I associate with Mauriat and Legrand and others, and you make it your own. You and your Yamaha teachers are very skillful musicians. Yoko's singing is wonderful.

I love the II-V progressions in the bridge and the key changes were awesome! And that guitar solo... what a great idea to have rhythmic tug-of-war between your backing in a relaxed swing based on triplet 1/8th notes and the guitar solo spending a lot of time playing with a 1/16th straight note feel (at least that's how it sounded to me). The overall effect was very classy music.

Once again, I am in awe of your talent.

A terrific listen.

ありがとうございました
Noel

You have such a gift for melody!!! This is just beautiful!!! Yoko did a wonderful vocal on this. I would take a little off the low end of her voice and make it a little wetter...just a personal preference. WONDERFUL!!!! Take care. Greg
