I was moving some files to my online storage yesterday - and thought I would share one. For those who have not figured out my user name this will explain. I've been doing this for 32 years and still get a rush every time we push the button.

Yup Rich - that explains it all right.
And you managed to escape with your hearing in tact so far? I'm assuming ear protectors.

Must be a song or three in there somewhere.

Blasting was the first thing that occurred to me, but I though it was related to hunting.

Me like big bada boom!

Alright den.

I once subcontracted some EE work with a few Civ E's that did urban demolition stuff.

They had a FUN job, too.

One of 'em, a reak nice farm-raised fella from West Virginia told me, "If you ever see me a-runnin' away -- fall right in line behind me!"

I told him I'd be the guy tryin' ta PASS him..

Years ago i worked underground in Grants NM as a surveyor's assistant. We measured contract for miners 600ft underground. First time underground we were heading for the shaft past the safety guy and no one told me what to expect when he pushed the button. It was an interesting experience, everyone else thought it was funny. New guys always get the best of everything.

Hey man I had you down as a demolition "Powder Man" from the git go.

On a side note my youngest son was an IED Speciliast in Iraq for awhile with the US Army. If you get the chance try to see the movie The Hurt Locker as it portrays his job very well. I think this film just picked up the Critic's Choice a night or so ago. Anyway the only thing he says was not accurate in the movie was when the main character left the base in an attempt to go a private mission solo. As anyone who served would know that would never happen, not like that anyway.

Wear good earplugs and never, never loose your ability to accelerate very, very quickly!

Mac - I use to have a t - shirt that had a similar message on the back.

Danny - thanks for the tip on the movie - I have a couple of young marines working for me - they did similar work - I'll pass the title on to them also.

Ian - actually the first song I ever wrote was called "The Powderman" - sang it for the guys at a Christmas party. I have always wanted to put video to it - just haven't gotten to it

Wyndham - Ive done a little underground work - dang - you ain't seen dark until you go there.
