Hey I think I've played that gig.

Seriously, a bread and butter gig like that is a wonderful thing.

And who sez ya can't play a jazz ballad on a Strat?

Not de bruddas...

Nice Lee, thanks for sharing that.

Got to agree, these house party gigs are the most fun for me. Those guys are doing a great job. Be sure to pass along our compliments.

Looked like a fun gig. In particular I liked the way the front man kept that big smile as he worked the audience throughout the tune.

On another note in the next video by the group (with the dancer) I could not help but notice the cat in the background (to the left) scoffing down the groceries . . . must have been the keyboard player.

Again nice gig/performance, thanks for sharing.

It's so great to see this is still happening. I haven't had the good fortune to play with a group in quite a while, no one wants to pay for a group anymore. Thanks for sharing this!

Thanks guys, it wasn't a gig, just a going away party for a musician friend of ours leaving for North Carolina. Bunch of us brought our axes and had a great time. Hadn't seen the bass player in 30 years. We all had worked different Waikiki venues back in the 60's/70's so this was a great chance to catch up and see each other again.

Hey Mac, I'm lovin' that Strat.

Lee,
Strat sounds good playing Misty. Won't take away my love of a hollow body, but it was a great sound. Looks like you all had a great time.

I'm blessed watching God do what He does best. I've had a few rough years, and I'm still not back to where I want to be, but I'm on the way and things are looking far better now than what they were!

Yeah, I hear ya Gary. I love playing my 175 too, but sometimes the strat is easier to schlep around. Hard to beat the sound of a fat humbucker, I agree.

Great!! Nice vocal and talented cats...

Reminds me of my attempt to sing Misty ala Raggae at a hotel show in Jamaica. Having always sung it as a slow swing, like your boys did...it was really wierd with a Jamaican backup...

Then I did this one....(I wish), altho I do have the same equipment...

Also had to put on a wig and go into my falsetto....

haha............I guess "old" is a relative term, yeah? Some of them I played with in Waikiki in the late 60's and throughout the 70's. There are a couple of young cats in there too, lol. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them.
