Nice vocal delivery and mix of cryptic + sensory detail lyrics.

Thanks for sharing!

Fretless bass, horn section, congas, excellent choices and excellent use. And I really enjoyed your vocals, fragile yet strong interpretation.

Janne,
That`s such an encouraging review- thank you!

Powerful. As is the entire write.

That fretless bass and the congas add great dimension. Outstanding choice.

Your vocals add just the right amount of melancholy to the production.

The mix is spot on to our ears.

Excellent.

PS Regarding the mistake...Bud is too old.

J&B,

I appreciate all those positives... and will make allowances for another oldster!

Nice! smile

An alliterative opening verse, poetic language - it's a joy to listen to the lyrics.

The instrumentation is perfect for the song - dynamically flat and embellishing. In a way it's more poetic recitation than sung.

The only nit I was going to mention the ending was a bit MIDI-ish for my taste, but my son walked by at that point and without prompting said that he thought the MIDI in the sound was rather charming. So... Horses for courses. wink

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

David,
I appreciate the comments. The horns were a first for me- I think they fit stylistically-maybe I`ll update them when there`s a more natural sounding track available.

Robert,
Very magnetic lyrics. You are one of the top current poets I have the honor of knowing. Sorry, I can not pinpoint "oldster mistake", I tried. My frail excuse is ESL, no rebates. I like the arrangement and acoustic feel of it. I do feel that horns are a bit intrusive. Not by themselves, but specifically on this composition. If you care for opinion, I think softly played flute(s) would be a gentler choice. Enjoyed it. Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Robert,

Very nice melody with really comfortable vocals.
It's an exciting work.
I feel your personality very much.
And it is very ambitious to use Horns,CroonerBossa and Conga in this song.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Beautiful, intimate, powerful nostalgia. Really, really loved it - this is one of those songs that doesn't hit you in the face immediately, but has you searching deeper and deeper into it for meaning. Couldn't find the line you mentioned, but I wasn't really looking for that. Loved it all. Well done.

Robert ...

This is such a lovely song! Your lyric is classic alliteration, Wow, so many fabulous lines. This is a legitimate treat for the listener. Love the high congas. The mix allows each track its own space. A simply wonderful song and delivery.

Wishing you well ...

Alan
