I Travel

I travel, baby, I’m always packed
I’m ready to leave at the drop of a hat
I get itchy feet if I stand still too long
Turn your back for a moment and you’ll find me gone

I travel, baby, you can’t depend on me
Wherever I am today, somewhere else I plan to be
I’ve been on the run ever since I learned to walk
Known every way to say goodbye ever since I could talk

I travel, baby, it’s what I do
Some people say ‘I never get tired of this view’
You’ll never hear those words spoken by me
I like the scene to change and change frequently

I travel, I travel light
Never was cut out to be a suburbanite
I travel, baby, I travel far and near
I’m a denizen of the road; I want to make that clear

I travel, baby, I’m sorry if I hurt you
But as sure as the sun comes up some day I will desert you
I travel, baby, I’ve got to make that plain
I’m a rambling man, I am; it’s just the way I’m made

(I travel, yes I do
I travel, mmm, I travel)

Hi Peter ...

Nice! I've always been a big-time traveler ...my favorite place is what's around the next bend I've never before traveled.

Good lyric, mix, and arrangement. Leon always comes through for you! That tempo change at 2:20 was a real surprise ... but it works! The guitar work is splendid. I like this a lot! Wishing the best ... and be safe.

Alan

Wow. That's what I call a professionally done track. Loved the tempo change and the final, fast section as much as the rest of it. Nothing more to say except - well done!

Love this!

Man, I was enjoying the lyrics/vocal from Leon and your slide playing and then that change up happened at 2:18 and the guitars after that ....

Very, very cool. Sort of like the end of Free Bird with the dual lead guitars. Really good guys, very much enjoyed.

The music is really cool - a good shuffling traveller song.
The added guitar parts are fabulous.
There're a few spots where the vocal jumps out and could use automation or a higher compression ration but it's a cool ting ad the dual lead in the double time are worth the price of admission alone.

Cheers

Peter & Leon,

"I travel, I travel light
Never was cut out to be a suburbanite"

That line made me laugh...

I had the same thought that Dave did (that seems to happen a lot)

Well done!

I really like the rhyme travel light/suburbanite. laugh

I saw the length of the song, and wondered where it was going to go at the halfway mark.

Hahahahahaha! laugh

Love the gratuitous guitar solo.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Wow - very, very well executed. Shows a strong understanding of both songwriting and mixing. It flows effortlessly, and is decent catching without being overbearing. The mix is 10/10 for me personally - would not bat an eyelash if I heard this on the radio.

Thanks for sharing smile

Cheers,
Deryk

Hi Leon & Peter,

cool stiff !!!! Loved the lyrics a lot; great vocals, lovely slide-guitar. And that change at the end blew me off my chair - fantastic.

Stay safe, guys,

Hello Leon and Peter,

That is a cool song you made! That very nice guitarsolo gave it a lot of energy. You could go wild on that one!
The only thing is it will be some challenge to travel that far nowadays! It's a silly joke, but you made it yourself I just saw after writing it ;-).
To me everything sounded good, full of power and -again- Leon did a very good job on that sologuitar. Is it still working after your 'treatment'?

Thanks Dave, originally played with one guitar and thought that it sounded like Free Bird, so re-did it accordingly.

Wow. I love how the slide comes in with the harmony. Really good vocal and the words are perfect. Whoa an abrupt change in tempo, but, man, those guitars are outstanding together. Very very well done.

Enjoy whatever happens!

Great lyricism on this one!

It really reminds me of a book I'm reading: Last Night in Montreal by Emily St. John Mandel. A great novel about a restless soul and lots of travel. Definitely worth a read if you come across it.

Cheers

Another very cool tune Peter and Leon. Excellent lyric. Guitars were excellent. Loved the sound of the slide. Sounds so cool with the lyric. Tempo change was excellent. You certainly hit the sweet spot with the solos. Well done Peter.
