I just wanna share with you good people:
I never understood why e.g. the guitar patch always changed back to default instrument everytime I started the play buttom, allthough I choosed another type in the instrument window upper left.
Suddenly I understood that it was in the style menu I could change it
Styles>Stylemaker>Edit current style>Guitar>Pat> and here you can change default instrument.

Hi Stratos,
While editing the Style itself would change the instrument choice, be advised that this also permanently changes the Style itself, unless of course you were to save it under a new name.
To change instruments in BB without editing the Style file is simple -- after you have selected the new instrument(s) you want to have play in that particular song, use the File->Save with Patches and Harmony command, be sure hit the Fill With Patches button and also the MSB and LSB if you are using higher banks and save the song like that.
This routine will replace the existing imbedded instrument patches with yours for that particular song, but will not change the default instrument selection when you go to use that particular style again.
