I'm using BiaB 2020 on Windows 10.
I would prefer to write my own endings and have unticked all auto ending options in 'Song Settings'.
I added four bars at the end with chords and set my last chord as a held chord with the three dots. On playback the chord does not hold and ends abruptly.
I also went into 'Chord Settings' for that last chord and under "Rests, Shots and Holds" set "Held Note". The chord still does not hold.
I'd be grateful for any help with this.

Just verifying, you must make the Bar for End of Chorus, or the last bar of the Tag, several (like four) bars beyond where you want the sound to end. I generally put a ‘stopper’ chord at the very end, like a C. chord.

Thanks for replying Matt.
Yes, I've double checked that I have four bars after the final chord with the dots and then a chord in the last bar.
I installed the latest update, checked there are no frozen tracks and regenerated the song but still that chord with the three dots ends abruptly.
There must be something I'm missing here.

Yes, your question clearly made it sound as if you knew those things. I was just making sure. I now see we have interacted on notation questions before.
Could you post the song for us to try?
Perhaps create a free Dropbox account, upload the song to a public area, and post the link to it here. Or use the File Manager on this forum (find it right above Mark as Edited).
Wild guess: there are, I think, some RealTracks in some genres that do not have a Hold available. If you can post the song, and we can hear it and see it, that will be more efficient than asking a lot of questions.

That's very kind of you Matt. I've just made a very simple and basic 12 bars where the same thing is happening. This is in 3/4 timing. I have tried a sample in 4/4 timing and with different RealTracks with the same result. Anyway, here's a link to my basic 12 bar sample file. A couple of times I have found RTs to have either no shots or holds or incorrect holds assigned. They were eventually corrected by PGM, might be the problem with this one. Does it work if you try another RT?

Classicman, I can fix it.
Remove the A part marker in bar 9. That's the blue line. Click till it turns green, then click once more to clear it. When you Regenerate & Play, the song will hold many bars.
A blue or green part marker there will cut off the held chord.
I admit I've never seen this before in over 25 years with BIAB, so congratulations.
I'm reporting this to the developers. It may always have been this way; I don't know. I just know that it looked odd in your song to have that part marker after the final hold.
ps Very smart to make such a simple song to illustrate the problem.

I've just played the same chordsheet that you provided. Thanks for that, it helps! If you take out the blue part marker at bar 9 and then regenerate the song, the ending will play as a proper hold.

Thank you very much Matt and Noel, I appreciate your help with this.
Well, I tried removing that part marker at Bar 9 so it is neither a blue or green, just the white bar. I then re-generated the song but the chord is still cut-off at the end.
Having removed that part marker at bar 9, I now have the blue marker at bars 1 and 13. I tried removing those as well.
This is a mystery. It works for you both but still not here.
I wonder if you have some default setting which has been changed here?

I doubt it.
But did you try Options, Return to Factory Settings? Always do that when something you know should work but doesn't.
ps Part markers at the beginning and end of the song cannot be removed, although they can be B or A.
