My only problem with Picassa is I think they don't accept the best resolution pictures because of size issues. My Photographer friend swears by " Flickr" where he uploads his pictures at full resolution and can download them from anywhere to have them printed at high quality or even poster sizes.... I think for the added quality he even pays something -- a one-time or annual fee. You can check it out if interested. I myself am ok with Google or even facebook as all I need is to make sure my friends can see the pictures on-line (no one is printing anything these days.)

I'm not a pro photographer. If you want a more complex editor, I hear Gimp is good. I'm sticking with Picasa because it meets my needs, including editing for red eye. We don't use pro level cameras either, just Canons with 10 megapixels.

Yeah, Gimp does a lot for a freebie. Interface is kinda 'off' (not intuitive for me). Does some pretty unique things.
Photofiltre is a pretty small program that does quite a bit, just don't think it does the red-eye thing. I could be wrong. However; it is small, I don't *think* it even registers, runs and loads quickly, has basic editing tools in an intuitive interface (for me at least). I use it a lot when working on web stuff. Logos, resizing pics, cropping, stuff like that. (also free) For under 2MB it does a lot. Makes it worth having just because of the size and cost.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome Make your sound your own!

One of the best features of Google and gmail is that you can pull all your email addys in and get them in one inbox. I have 4 email addresses, some are old, and I get 2 to 300 spams a day. Never see one in the in-box. Though it did send PG music files to the spam box due to the .exe files being on the black list. For good reason.
I just let it deal with the spam. I don't need to know I'm less of a man, or I have 5 million waiting for me in England due to the death of an African Business man who died with beri beri disease while preaching the gospel to pigmies in Upper Revolta. It's good to not be reminded that the wife does not think I'm a real man. Cause she does not complain much, however she's shoveling snow right now while I am running the dishwasher. Role reversal. She's coming in to paint the ceiling downstairs and I'm going to recline.

I user flikr for good stuff and Picassa for the rest. I think picassa is the best bargain going. Easy, and if you take lots of pics the new face recognition thing is awesome.
I have a Sony Digital DSLR uses my old Minolta lenses and I love it. Takes 10 MB pics, and I have a lot of fun. Normally during the summer 1000l at least per month. The winter gets me indoors a lot due to the arthritis issue. If I could afford the insurance I'd go south, but I think I might go to Cuba for 3 or 4 months each winter. The insurance is cheap and they have like 1 doctor for every 300 people.
I've been twice and the people, the attitudes, and the whole place impresses me. I feel safe, secure, and they let me bring in my computer, blackberry, and the case of horn oil I gave away to trumpet players.
This year 1 million Canadians, meaning like 1 in 25 is going to Cuba. 800 bucks for a week including flights, meals, and all the Havana Club or Buccanero you can drink. 2.4 hours from my house. Amazing.
BTW, I have open office on every computer, and love it. And I upload all my important stuff to google docs. I write manuals for bars and restaurants, makes me an extra 5k to 7k a year. I'd get more but I'm lazy and don't need the work. I've one kid I could train, but really it's a type of thing that takes a lot of thought and experience and I don't think he could do it justice.
However....maybe...
