I've been able to generate a BB Drum track in RB no problem via the "Generate MIDI Track > Drums", and it plays back fine when I use the VSC/DXi Synth or Ketron SD2, but when I select the Jamstix 2 vsti, the "note mappings" are wrong. Is there a special "mapping" file I need, or perhaps I'm doing something wrong? Jeff

Notes will be mapped to the General MIDI standard.

Some Drum Plugins such as BF Drums do have a few default instruments which do not conform to the GM standard. You can reassign GM instrument numbers within BF Drums to play whichever instrument you wish and save a proforma setup for future use, but I am not familiar with JamSticks. However, there is another way - use Edit > Split Midi Drums which assigns a separate track for each drum instrument according to the GM Standard. You are now able to check what is played on any track and tweak the sound - Use the Classic Tracks Window and increase/decrease the number (default zero) in the column "KEY" using the +/- keys. This changes the actual note being played by one semi-tone at a time to play a different instrument.

Thanks Mac and LynB - splitting the Drums to separate tracks worked, that is a cool feature and I will explore it more. With the Drums on one track, when I would switch to the Jamstix vsti, the kick drum would not sound. It would sound when switched to the the other modules, however. Thanks -Jeff

In Jamstix you can open the drum page and see what is being hit with the sifferent sounds and assign them. Sometimes it is mapped wrong, but it is not hard to remap the tracks.

Before you go running around changing things, I have Jamstix and have never seen that problem. All the kits I use are already mapped to the GM standard or at least they seem to be. It's possible there's some that are wrong and I've not noticed it. Check out everything else first and visit the Rayzoon forum. In case you're not aware of this already, JS will work fine as a drum sound module in Real Band but unfortunately, you can't use it's "brain" function to create it's own drum track. It's a well known problem with the VST implementation in RB.

I have JS 2 and in that some midi files require you to click the green GM button in JS to make it follow all the GM stuff properly, and others it worked better to not click that.

@Robh - Thanks for the tip about the green GM button in JS2- that worked great.
@jazzmammal - Yes, I was aware from previous posts in the forums that the JS2 brain does not work in RB/BB.
Thanks
Jeff
