I constantly see requests for Real Tracks for every instrument in every genre at every tempo imaginable. I even see those who are prepared to make their own Real Tracks. Why not just add the ability to use acidized loops in RealBand. There are an infinite supply of third party loops available from countless third party suppliers. Other programs even offer the capability to create your own acidized loops. Surely this is more practical than "rolling your own" Real Tracks.

The more versatile the better, but I think the primary concern is the ability to use realtracks or real instruments for melody lines and or custom solo lines.

The Drag and Drop window feature doesn't work in Acid?

Of course, it’s always been possible to move tracks between programs and drag and drop capability has made that easier, but that is not the point. The original post probably should have been part of the RealBand Wishlist instead of BIAB. The suggestion was meant as a way to add one feature that would go a long way to satisfying the many requests for very specific RealTracks. RealBand already has the chord information. If a user could select a section of a track, add a standardized loop (acidized as the defacto PC standard) and have RealBand automatically do the pitch shifting and time synching it would exponentially increase the audio loop sound palette available to users. The vast supply of third party loops and construction kits would add the same life and believability to a mix that users are looking for with RealTracks. Obviously, this is not as elegant as having a complete set of RealTrack loops and having the program intelligently do the selecting and arranging, but it was offered in response to threads I have seen with users entertaining the idea of creating their own RealTracks. Selecting your own loops would only be a subset of that process. Adding this feature to RealBand would add significant capability to an already killer program and might not take much more effort that fixing the drag and drop effort has taken.

For those who might not understand: 'Acidized loops' can be purchased in collections or 'rolled your own,' particularly if you have the Sound Forge editor with many special tools for doing so.
An 'Acidized' file has key, bars/ beats and 'transients detected' ... the little bits of audio ... information stored in the wav file header. The file/ loop itself could contain solo/ monophonic or ensemble/ polyphonic material ... the former offering a potentially great starting point for a 'solo' instrument.
In Acid and other DAWs that support it such as Cubase/ Nuendo, 'acidized' loops offer near perfect pitch shifing + or - 7 semitones and time shifing + or - 15 t0 20 bpm.
