After thinking about my wish for a couple of days I have some accompaning remarks:
1. There are several different endings needed
(x endings for each musical category identified by BIAB,
where x is 1 < x < 10) *)
2. These endings need to be played by each instrument, so we
have a harmonic experience instead of cacophony
3. The different instruments may play different melody lines for
their part, but the different melody lines must be harmonically
sound.
For a starter it would help to not just stop in the middle of a tone and truncate it, but have all instruments end simultaneously.
*) I'm talking 'bout categories not styles. Benny Goodman and Bob Wills both played Swing and Swing is a branch of the jazz music category.
