Matt,

The principal of Overture (outfit called Geniesoft) was one of the Encore programmers, who took inspiration from that work. The chord entry system, for example, is dead similar. Overture opens Encore files directly. I've read that when he thought Encore was dead after the bankruptcy, he saw a chance to offer its better features in a modernized program -- it's a conceptual follow-on to Encore, not related commercially.

I no longer think I got the Opus font from Overture. They seem to feature "Aloisen". Apparently Opus ships with Sibelius: I have "Scorch" installed, so maybe that's it. Music fonts arrive here in a fog of absolute mystery.
