Don't throw away your VSC DXi or whatever software DXi synth you were using before you got the SD-2.

I often use the Direct Render function to grab a quick audio file of a project. The neat thing is that if you invoke Direct Render when the hardware synth is selected, pgmusic softwares will direct you automatically to the MIDI Output selection window where you just check the "Use DXi" button and then the Direct Render takes place using those sounds. And after the Render is done, the software will take you BACK to that window so that you can UNcheck it and return to your hardware synth settings.

Great for practice stuff, quick renders for demos or the like. The VSC DXi can still hold its own in the sound department, too.

And -- if a song is "All RealTracks" or All Audio Tracks, using the Direct Render process as per the above is fast and works just fine!
