Sounds like Ye Olde Creative Record Mixer problem where the input is set to "What U Hear" for the Recording Input.
That can make an echo loop.
The Software Mixer's Record Input has to be set to the exact input that your guitar is coming in on, likely the Line Input to stop that.
If it isn't that, it could be due to setup of the program's Live Monitoring of Effects issues...

Hi to every one again, I think I'm finaly getting to grips with this problem of the program crashing, sometime ago I downloaded a VST plug in from Quik Quaks called "Up Stereo" which is a stereo image enhancer this was the latest version according to there web site. I now know that everytime this plug in is active the programe instantly crashes. I have now downloaded the earlier version of the plug in and this works fine, I have tried to contact Quik Quaks but no response so far. I just wondered if anyone else has come across this plug in before and had the same problems.

dave..
on another forum i'm on people are reporting various plug ins
that crash daws. ones made with synth edit are often cited.
it really depends how the plug in is coded.
the name of the game with plug ins is to test em thoroughly before
useing in proper sessions.
if i find a plug in is a resource hog or trouble..
i dont care how good...it gets deleted.
(to save me re typing lots , ive posted a couple of plug in
tips in my tips thread in the tips n triks section of the forum.)
also be aware if ya gonna use oodles of plug ins n real time
softsynths in daws that , depending how they are coded..
they can suck up puter resources like no tomorrow.,
(memory n processing power.)
this is why lots of studios are now starting to use i7 processors
with lotsa memory.
what processor do you have ??

I think most of us have experienced the 'rogue plugin' issue. It is often system specific, ie the plugin may work fine for me yet crash your system.
Sign of a plugin not written very well. Glad you figured it out.
I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I got one of those rogue plug-ins. It made all my vocals sound like Sarah Palin.

Even cleaning the VSTi and changing to common MIDI Out port or MIDI Mapper, in the .SEQ file he continues keeping information because if I open the file it shows the loading screen of the VSTi. PT does not support VSTi over 200 Mb?
PT is crashing each time I close the program after play with a large VSTi. You can see in Windows Task Manager.
