Hi, I want to know if there is some style in Band in a Box that sounds similar to the song 'Two Princess' from 90's funk rock band Spin Doctors, one of my dad's favorite bands. My brother and me want to surprise him singing and playing the song at his near birthday. I've already tried filter search in familiar song title and some styles and rt's combinations in my 2020 ultrapak but seem like I am not hitting the spot.
I would bring this into my DAW and work with it there. If you or your brother play an instrument you could delete that instrument in the MIDI file and add yours. You could also record your singing, burn the song into a CD or MP3 and give it to you dad.
I hope this helps.
Back in my day the only time we started panic buying was when the bartender shouted "last call"!

Great suggestion! I'll keep it in mind, thanks. My brother already told me have two midi files song versions, but there is other side of the story, my dad is a hobbist musician and he gave me Band in a Box some years ago for my birthday, a wonderful gift.
That's why I want to produce the song by myself. I think the right way to thank him for such a fantastic gift is using it for the purpose and even better with his favorite song.
The organ is an extra if you want to use it. The original bass is a finger bass, but the slap bass imparts that funk touch usual in this band, if it sounds too bright to you could lower the 'tone' value on the mixer. Try to balance the volume level of the guitars in each verse to achieve more consistency throughout the song.
We hope your daddy get happy with your nice and special gift from the Band-in-a-Box factory.
NOTE: This demo doesn't contains original song chord melodies or progressions from any band, artist or author/composer. It is just a similar style for demonstration purposes.
Thanks, Carlos, this is the recipe Doctor Spin prescribed for me I just enter the chords from the original song, it sounds like the real thing! I noted two guitars instead one like original band, but fit perfect in the context, slap bass I liked it, organ really helps improve the song part B. I think my dad will think we use professional karaoke track no way! "look daddy no midi files...just Band in a Box"
How is the drums break done? 'Chord settings' rest, shot? or 'Bar Settings' by mute all except drums? it sound great.
Thanks, Jim. I like that trick no just for drums but also for basses and solo wind instruments. Sometimes I freeze the other instruments and set the drums break with another drums style with a different sound. We can also do it in Bar Settings for random selected bars.

I'm glad it serves your needs, Ginna. I think your dad is going to borrow your Band-in-a-Box to re-create his teenager hits!
About drums break, yes, you can use Chord Settings as you see in the image.
Good luck! and have lot of fun producing the song.
