haven't you grown tired of always looking back mourning those good ol' days, stuck in that same track you don't want to hear what's new, you hide behind a wall always living in the past, that ain't living at all
you don't see why it shouldn't be like it's always been ain't your concern if someone else takes it on the chin so you hunker down, stand your ground, happy in the hole you're diggin' but that's not who i am
i'm standing on the ledge my heart in my hand pushing the envelope as hard as i can proud of being a good ol' boy but you've got to understand when it's time to add in a dose of brand new man so i'm living on the edge standing on the ledge
there's so much to discover, so many things to try i plan on having no regrets when it's my day to die so let the music play, i'll get up and dance i'll face my fear of falling, i'll still take the chance
i'm standing on the ledge...

Hi Floyd. A cool "angry young man attitude" vibe to this. This song demands the full attention of the listener extolling a "don't look at life through a rear view mirror" message. I like this song very much. p.s Please tell more about your artwork.
Wow! Okay, this immediately reminded me of theme music for TV or film. The power chords had a lot to do with it but also the vocal processing. And even the ending. Really different for you and really great!

Excellent work! I especially liked the (I think) solitary bass drum used in the verse sections. I thought the power/energy was great. Really liked the "edge/ledge" combo in the lyric. And that ending--very cool!

That was amazing. A massive sound, loved the held guitars and what a vocal! Superb song crafting and a brilliant sound. Excellent set of lyrics to match.
Nice colouration/distressing on the 1st verse vocal...could easily have turned into an industrial rock piece. It developed into a cool crunchy piece of country flavoured rock. My only nit would be that the solo, (I'm quite fond of the hazy & Britpsych stuff in BIAB2020), is a little too smooth when it starts. I'd have liked it a little nastier just as it came out from under the BIG guitars. Other than that very minor taste based affectation form me this is a fantastic song.

It's a great composition very rhythmic with a good mix. The timbre of your voice lends itself perfectly to this. Your lyrics are well written and the melody pleasant. Everything is well calibrated. Well done.
Awesome Floyd! Love what you did with the vocals effects! The heavy rock sound in the chorus sounds super! This seems to be a trip to unchartered waters compared to most of your work but it sounds like you have gone there with all the confidence and talent needed to make this sound great! Impressive!!! Thanks, T
floyd, As always a great write! I especially like "i plan on having no regrets when it's my day to die" as it is my personal philosophy. Bis sound and the opening guitar is super. I do kind of agree with Ray that a nastier guitar solo may have been a slightly better choice. It is very hard to find anything to nitpick in any of your work but I think he had a valid point as I kind of thought that before I read his comment. Other than that small detraction everything works. I like the gritty vocal processing. My final comment, It rocks! Tom

Thanks for having a listen, Gary.
Over the years, I've dabbled with creating large abstracts. This one (the "cover art") is 4' X 4'. The others that I've used are similar sizes. Sometimes 3' X 4', sometimes 4' X 5'... Several were sold by an art dealer - into commercial offices in the St. Louis area, typically selling in the $800 range (but that was years ago and I haven't pursued that further). Mostly they hang in our house (or get stacked in the garage)...

Thanks, TM...something "really different..." was what I was after
Nice to hear you experiencing on the harder edge of rock, somewhere between Bon Jovi and Aerosmith. Great rocking sound, nice vocal effect. Interesting change of point of view right before the first chorus, I really like the message in the second verse, although I was wondering what happened to the guy who was happy in the hole.
WOW!!!! Is "punk country" a genre, or did you just invent it?? Such great "kick you in the butt" energy and attitude on display here!! You are the master of many domains my friend!!!! I dig it......may even get me out of my rut, and that is a chore! LOVE IT!!!! Take care. Greg
Cool country rock vibe going on here. Great build on the production-just drives the listen on. I find it’s tough in BIAB to really get a good rock edge—but you’ve done it really well here. Masterful work on the production. That guitar lick going into the chorus is killer. Great work, cool tune.
