There are possibly several ways to transpose. Tell us what steps you took (exactly) to transpose the melody. Also can you advise more about your configuration, version, etc?

my steps : notation window options - transpose options : i have a melody (with inserted rests) in the treble clef -for trumpet. now i want it in bass clef for trombone. pressing the transpose option - "melody on bass clef -12".
now the melody is in the bass clef, but without the rests....
OK, I tried using your technique it and it worked for me.
I wonder if checking/unchecking the 'Clean' checkbox on the Notation display window changes anything for you?

ok, thanks. when im using imported midi melodys, its all right . if im using the "editable notation mode", making rests in the melody, the rests are only in the treble clef...
I wonder if the notation has to be saved first before transposing? Perhaps the program moves the 'in memory' notation, not the displayed notation that hasn't been saved to memory yet?

Hmmm. Well I tried it in editable notation mode, but the rests transferred OK. I added notes to a blank bar, added rests, didn't save anything, and then transposed and the rests moved also.

ok this is strange now. I tested it at biab 2009. the same thing... changing the 'Clean' setting makes no difference. saving after editing makes no difference.
I'm really puzzled by this. Perhaps you might lodge a report with PG Music and see if they have any ideas. Certainly you could reference this thread.
