I'm hoping that someone can assist me with this query.
I am a BIAB Audiophile user. Last year I only installed the 32 bit version of BIAB (despite the 64 bit version being available) because the free version of Amplitube that PG Music has shipped previously was only 32 bit and some of the realtracks with Amplitube guitar effects would therefore not work in a 64 bit BIAB environment.
I am about to install BIAB 2021 and I am wondering whether this is still the case or whether (and how) I can get hold of a 64 bit version of Amplitube.
Alternatively, can I install Jbridge to host a 32 bit version of Amplitube within a 64 bit version of BIAB?
Any advice or assistance gratefully received!
Hello Aubrey,
There are definitely some good tips above however I want to clarify a few things.
--> We used to include the free version of Amplitube 3. There are actually both 32-bit and 64-bit VST versions of Amplitube 3. You can use the 64-bit version with bbw64.exe, you don't need jBridge. However...
--> Amplitube 3 is old now and not offered as a download. You should be able to download Amplitube 4 from your IK Multimedia account instead.
I tested this just now and it worked great - you could:
1. Download and installed Amplitube 4. Pay attention to the "VST" location, since this is the one you want.
2. Run Band-in-a-Box. In the Plugins tab of the Mixer, left-click --> Choose Plugin.
3. Click [Add Plugin] and navigate to the location of the VST, typically in C:\Program Files\VSTPlugins. Add AmpliTube 4.dll.
4. It should now appear in the list of plugins as "<VST> IK Multimedia: AmpliTube 4"
One thing that is not going to work right off the bat if you were previously using AmpliTube 3, are the AmpliTube 3 presets. These can be converted to the version 4 format. In the plugin GUI, click on Presets and select the option to convert legacy presets.
