I can't imagine a 10 month old HP Media centric system running Vista in a Tower type case with a high end video card running HDMI to a large screen HP monitor that you can turn sideways so it's vertical, etc. can suddenly develop problems with drivers. It's more likely that something in Vista/Windows 7 is incompatible with the output from the software. My drivers are NVidea.
Much of what I'm doing now involves resizing the screen and putting the lyrics window to the right of the 4 bars scrolling along the bottom. Every once in a while I lose the notes changing colour. I used to play along at times with the chord sheet when there was no melody but I've entered lead in notes to a lot of that stuff so I don't do that any more. But take a long song, add a tag, and you can't edit it after playing in the chord sheet mode, I wanted to resolve a song in a better manner, it might be cool to end on a jazzed up chord, but using the vocalist that sounds wrong, so say it's Eb7+9 that someone put in as the end chord it will only sound right vocally (to me) if you go to Eb. I gave up the edit idea, and changed to the xp machine, did the deed there, and went back. I have to check another song that way to make a definitive call on vista vrs xp.

Windows Updates have caused issues in the past that were fixed by videocard mfr's releasing updated drivers...

I just updated my video drivers for Vista, went to the control panel, it took about 20 minutes, reboot.
The song I'm working on is the original french version of Let It Be Me, (Je t'appartiens).
My card is an Nvidea GeoForce and I run HDMI to an HPw2207h monitor.
The chord sheet us unusable. You click somewhere and get a grey box in the middle of the thing with nothing in it. The song plays fine and the chords go by ok until near bar 68 and then instead of scrolling down it jumps to the top and starts over writing the chords, but it's not on top, it's offset and half between one row and the other. It's worse if you scale the window and put the lyrics window beside it. I cannot go into the chord sheet at all and do an edit.

Update a 38 bar song with repeats plays perfectly, and I can edit the chords. The problem exists once there are 60 or so bars, I have not tried it with longer but that's next, I'll try and find a song that's longer with repeats. The one I'm using is almost 70 bars long with 1 repeat.

I just unfolded But not for me, 4 verses. It displays bars 1 to 40, I cannot scroll down past that at all, the bar is a the bottom and the rest of the song is stuck under there. If I right click on say bar 30 it starts to make blank grey boxes and as I move the arrow key it just draws blank grey box after box and you end up stuck somewhere at the bottom of the page with pages more of measures under that but it just stalls.

Another clue? If when the screen is messed up click the 8th note, then click it again and the screen is white, no chords. Press Play and they all appear.

Does it do this if you run the BIAB window full screen (maximized)? My nVidia system with an lcd monitor has problems with BIAB if it is not maximized. Sounds similar to your problem.
What is your memory config in your computer? You might try going into the bios (if you are comfy with that) and change the settings for your system memory speed and type, especially if you have added memory lately. Are you using a built in video or an add on video card? If you have a video card, did you disable the onboard video and/or release the memory used by the onboard system?
