I was sitting here before, thinking about this: Can I have MIDI instruments in the same song with Real Tracks in it? If yes, when I bring it into CbB with the PG plugin will those MIDI tracks still be MIDI when the song gets there? An example:
Bass - MIDI Drums - MIDI Guitar - Real Tracks Guitar 2 - Real Tracks Pedal Steel - Real Tracks
one way to test this for yourself is to load one of the demo songs for a style that has both RealTracks and MIDI tracks, then check out how it looks in tracks view.
Thanks Dan, you helped me also. Those TLA's get me all the time
BIAB & RB2026 Win.(Audiophile), Windows 10 Pro & Windows 11, Cakewalk Bandlab, Izotope Prod.Bundle, Roland RD-1000, Synthogy Ivory, Session Keys Grand S & Electric R, Kontakt, Focusrite 18i20, KetronSD2, NS40M, Pioneer Active Monitors.
So what exactly are you doing? Running Cakewalk and using the plugin as a VSTI or a DXi and generating parts? I have never done any of that so I don't know how it works (and I am not likely to do this) but it's a good learning experience to follow this thread. I guess I understand why they coded that for use as a plugin, but I think it's just as easy to generate in Real Band and drop the files with the drop tool if you want to move to a DAW. I just use Real Band's DAW anyway. The few shortcomings I have found I can work around.

I've been a Cakewalk user since version 3.0. I've tried other DAW's but always end up coming back to Cakewalk. My latest adventure was Reaper. I thought I would like it and gave it about 6 weeks. It works well... but Cakewalk was fired back up this morning. What's that saying about teaching an old dog...
The BIAB plugin works well for me. Yep... just bring it in, generate and voila... all instruments on their own tracks.
Hi Bobby, try loading up a style named =HANKMID - this is a style we've created that uses both MIDI and Realtracks.
In the DAW plugin, you will be able to get a WAV version or a MIDI version, depending on which button you drag into your DAW. Please see the attached screenshot.
Thank you for this. I'm going to give it a try a bit later.
The one thing I noticed in your screenshot is that this version of the BIAB plugin looks nothing like the version I'm using. Did I miss an update. I bought my update of BIAB in 2019 which I bought mostly for the plugin that was included.
If in fact there was an update to the plugin within the past year, am I eligible to get it?
I just had a chat with PG asking about the difference in my plugin compared to your screen shot, and now I know why. It involves me upgrading my 2019 version. Which I did.
