No bug, that command was placed there a long time ago, when many machines were at the ~400MHz level. It did help for those situations. Recall that RB is based on the PT engine and that's why the button is "still there" in a much newer program. it also will help those who may still be using older machines to have the command available.

With a lot of today's machines, checking that option can often actually make the response *slower* -- or as you have found, call a short halt. Just don't use it with the modern machines, you really don't need to.
