i have the audient evo but not your id22.
do you see the audient drivers listed in cubase driver selection ??
your id 22 should have an app for settings like my evo.
do you have the app on your taskbar..?
i love my evo app for settings.
in addition audient have a very nice article on "optimising a pc for audio." have you read that ?

make sure you have the id 22 as your default windows device AND set everything to 44.1/16 cos thats what works for me.
its very difficult to help further without pics of your pc settings...so..
post pics of the following...
1. your win recording and playback settings...2 pics.
these should show audient.
2. pics of your biab driver selection settings.
3. pic of the id 22 app settings.
4. pics of your cubase driver settings.
