A free patch update is available (for existing 2010 users)
http://www.pgmusic.com/support_macintoshupdates.htm#2010_14

Note: If you don't have version 2010 yet, you can buy the upgrade to 2010 here http://www.pgmusic.com/band.htm
(the shipping versions of the program are build 14, as of March 30/2010. You can see the build number in the "Band-in-a-Box About" menu item.)
This adds some new features, such as
- looped playback of any selected region
- mouse scroll wheel support
- ability to have endings use a “held chord”, like C…

Build 14
Fixed: Dragging soloist track sometimes said no music available to drop (if there was no RealChart).
Fixed: Drum Shot volume bugs.
Fixed: Playback misbehavior if a RealTrack audio file not found.

Here is a full list of new features and fixes for build 12

Additions:
• Added: Looping any region added. Highlight the region (on the main chordsheet), then press PlayLoop button. If you open the notation it will the selected area also.
• Added: Mouse scroll wheel support to the Main Window chord/notation panel.
• Added: Mouse scroll wheel support to the Song Picker dialog, Style Picker dialog, RealDrums Picker dialog, RealTracks Picker Dialog, Soloist Picker dialog.
• Added: Hold chord at end works for MIDI and RealTracks.
• Improved: Frozen tracks can now have volume changes applied to them (mute etc.) by f5 dialog at any time (realtracks only) including after they are frozen.
• Updated: Support added for newer Styles, RealTracks, and RealDrums.

Fixes:
• Some RealTracks endings weren't playing correctly.
• Possible crash during RealTracks playback.
• Bug with saving/loading F5 bar changes which affected builds 9 and 10, but did not affect earlier 2009 builds
• Wrong Patch changes were getting written to some RealCharts
• Generate Single Track of RealTracks would generate it twice with halfTime/Double Time tracks
• Some Bluesy RealTracks (like 751) weren't playing bluesy
• Time-offset track mute regions if there are F5 bar time signature changes in a song
• Prevent drum shots and pushes "leaking thru" on F5 muted bars.
• Remembers CoreMIDI port assignments between runs.
• Lost clicks on Toolbar buttons, especially the Stop button if it is clicked very quickly.
• Improved: Slight improvements to Realtracks playback timing.
• Volume changes (e.g. f5 dialog - mute at certain bars) were not working for generated soloists
• If soloist was generated on a blank song, the song wouldn't generate, just the solo would play.
• Show all styles button in the StylePicker fixed.
• Spurious message "this function cannot be done while the solo is generated" was showing up sometimes.

Can we get the Open Song by Title to be able to traverse subfolders? I believe the Windows version does this......it would be really helpful for those of us who have thousands and thousands of songs.....

The other fixes are great!

Hi Eric

That would be a good feature. It is on the To Do list.

You know, another thing that would be really nice is that if Band in a Box had a menu option to check for an update and perhaps a preference to have the program check for updates weekly or whatever.

Could help a lot of people who don't actively browse the forums and stuff.

But I'd rather have the Open Song Title thing first ;-)

mouse scrolling and looping very welcome additions.
however after the upgrade drums no longer works in "shots"
the other instruments still sound.
after reinstalling biab 2010 without the build 12 every thing works again.

Yes...I'm also having the build 12 "shots" drum bug.
If I make a bar with 4 chords and turn on shots for all the chords, drums are only heard on the first beat.
Shots generally only works with drums, if inserted on the first beat.
I had a backup of build 9, and here the shots work OK.

Yes, that was present in build 12, but fixed in build 14. Please download that here.
