The Blank "utility" styles actually use the MIDI Drum track.

If you select New, then load a blank style, hit Play, then look at the Drum Notation, you will see that there is a quarter note on the first beat of every bar. You don't hear it because it is set to a Velocity of 1. That Velocity setting is likely why the RealDrums will load but are silent. They are turned all the way down by design by the utility style.

This is how the Blank styles were created and they were created for a different purpose: Those who wished to record their MIDI instrument inside BiaB without any accompanying style.

The Blank Styles were not created as a way for you to try to build a song with drums.

If you want to do that, you could just load any style, MIDI or RealTracks, that had the Tempo and feel you need, and then just replace parts with RealTracks, change RealDrums. Any parts you don't want to hear can be Muted using RightClick.
