Hi everyone.
I've found that some Bass RT don't play correctly over certain slash chords. For example, RT#515, #916, #902, #908, #909 or #914 will play E minor patterns over E-7/D chord.
Peace,
Latest BIAB version, latest build.

Forward that to support at pgmusic dot com.
No sense to post it here, this is the user forum, not a testers forum.
Maybe in the future they will put up a pg staffers forum.
This being a long weekend I doubt anyone is going to look at the issue if it's just posted here.
This forum is primarily advanced users sharing info or helping others.
If you asked a question about particular examples (have to be specific, which RT's.) and ask for verification then that would be another thing.
Just saying...eh...

There have been patches for this kind of problem. Cerio, are you up to date? Using version 2010?

Even a real bassist wouldn't play just a D in every chorus, particularly if it's a jazz tune. Later, Ray

Try removing the dash from the chord. I have had minor bass licks over major chords, usually regenerating gets me something closer.

Peter, I think he is saying that while using major chords, sometimes the bass uses the minor third.. I have had that experience also. It's not the slash bass note so much as other notes chosen to go with it. At least that is how I read it, and maybe because of personal experience. If not, sorry to have hijacked the issue..
Example in an E7/D the bass may use the D and G (natural) instead of G#.. Regenerating often got me a lick with the major third.
I had not compiled a list of the RT #'s like he did, so I never reported it, considering it a fluke.

Bob, Thanks. If you have a song like that, please freeze the bass track, and e-mail it to beta@pgmusic.com so we can look into it. Regenerating it is likely the best workaround (and freeze it when sounding good).

When it happened to me, at least once that I can recall, I was in RB, so freezing wasn't necessary, and I could regenerate that one small section. Wasn't much bother at the time.
Thanks again, next time I see it I'll get something to support.

The original post said E- and E-7, nothing about major chords.

If by E-7/D, you are instead referring to Em7b5/D .... yes that is true, sometimes the bass will slip in a natural 5 (b natural), instead of the Bb. Best to regenerate the track, and if its ok freeze it. (or change the chord pgression to something like| Em7b/D Em7b5 | to force the bass notes that you want. That should only happen occasionally, and the Em7b5/D is the typical one that would produce it. We will fix that, though not in the near future, as it isn’t that common a chord (Em7b5/D) , and not an easy fix.

I'll expose my BiaB newbieness here- Is the dash an implication of minor? I did look at the supported chord list online and did not see that. I use the little m when I write minor.
If this is the case and it is a minor chord, I don't see why the OP would complain about playing a minor riff. I guess that is what threw me.
However, I have seen the realbass play a minor third over a major chord, it didn't fit and stuck right out, so I guess I was thinkng that this is what the OP was saying.

Dash equals minor, yes. The dash is part of the jazz shorthand.
If you set BiaB to the Jazz fonts, you will see that instead.
C-7 or Cm7, same chord.
Little triangle after the chord for Maj7, little circle for Diminished, circle with slash for Half-Diminished or m7b5, which can also be shorthand typed in BiaB as Ch, etc.
These are typical shorthands on jazz charts.

Peter, I'm out of the computer with BIAB right now, so I can't try this. But when I create a new song, write Em7/D on the first bar, choose any of the mentioned RT (RT#515, #916, #902, #908, #909 or #914) and press play, the bass will play E minor patterns instead of D patterns.
I'll send different examples to beta@pgmusic if necessary.
By the way, I write this reports to the forum just to see if others users can replicate the problems; But if it's not the correct procedure, I'll finish doing it, of course.
Regards,

Using =Jobim_P drum style and Real Bass #908,BIAB does not play the slash bass note D. Using midi bass, the bass plays the slash note D. Later, Ray

Yes, this is functioning as intended. Faced with a Em7/D chord, a human bass player will play the D note bass, and then if he wants to outline an more of the chord (later in the pattern), he would be doing it based on the Em7 chord. It would be wrong for the bass player to play a D pattern (D F# A)
