Just asking other USB Drive buyers, what the average time for the shipping of orders that have the USB Drive is?
I bought 2022 several days ago, but have heard nothing from PG, when I asked online help I was advised the orders have not shipped the physical copies yet, you will get an email with a tracking number once it goes out. Which was sorta what I already knew. When I asked for an approximation of shipping times, I was advised it cannot be given.
So that is why I am asking here so I might get some idea of how long the whole process will take.
If you can trust my memory, I recall that in past years the blank Audiophile drives had never actually been on hand at PG Music at the time they were first offered for sale, so there was a lag time, first for the drives to get there, and then to have the data saved to them. It’s typically been one or two weeks after I ordered my yearly update before they were actually shipped. Once shipped, they usually got here in about 2 days.
My experience has been different than that. I have always received my hard drives within two days of placing the order.
How can you sell a product without having the product in stock?
Regards,
Bob
Same here but this year everything is different. Our postal service is slowing down. Help wanted signs are up for them, as well as every other place. The supply chain is slower than molasses in January if it is moving at all! Remember PGMusic has the data but they must purchase the HDs and USB flash drives.
I'll just keep using BiaB 2021 until my USB flash drive arrives.

Happens all of the time. Its called a back order. Here is an old thread from a past year where the history of the HDs not being ready until after the product was already offered for sale.
BTW, I just noticed on USPS Informed Delivery that they have a DHL delivery in the pipeline for me. Since, DHL doesn't have an actual presence in the U.S. any longer, this has to be an international shipment, so I assume that it is my 2022 Audiophile.

The Postal Service has nothing to do with it. They haven't even shipped yet to the Postal Service!

It's December 8th.
"Remember PGMusic has the data but they must purchase the HDs and USB flash drives. "
PG Music should have the hard drives in stock. If you sold 1000 HD's last year, you should have at least that many in stock. It's called Inventory Control.
There's also a chance that they want to get the very latest release installed before shipping and maybe a patch is imminent. That's only a hunch. I have no real knowledge.

I know what a back order is. I did Inventory Control for years.
"HDs not being ready until after the product was already offered for sale."
That is called a deceptive business practice. Tell me, up front, that you have a product on back order, and I can decide if that is acceptable. To sell a product you don't physically have, to a repeat customer, is insulting.
Just be pleased they aren't being shipped FROM the USA. DeJoy's Trumped Postal Service, (as successful as any other Trump business), declared it can't deliver parcels to 20 countries due to a "lack of transport" - whatever that means. I can't even get a CD sent from New Mexico...the artist was told no at the P.O. Australia is on that list.
Being "Downunder" if I order something from Europe or the North American continent I expect to wait a while as the sorting system is slow and, haven't you noticed, it's the clogged Xmas postal period that PG chooses to pre sell during.
Being that these are "get em cheap before the official sale" I'd expect a little lag and, let's be fair, most businesses sell more than they hold in stock.

I have one thing to say in defense of what PG Music is doing, and that is there is no way that they could efficiently have everything ready to go because they don’t have any idea about what an individual customer will order until they actually order. I can perceive at least part of what the problem is because I once screwed myself out of the bonus UNRELEASED Real tracks IN 24 BIT by accidentally omitting the 49 PAK from my initial order and splitting the order over two different days. As an Audiophile customer, I get my entire order on the HD. This year that includes the 49 PAK, the latest Xtra styles pak, and the latest XPRO pak. PG Music takes the time to make to make sure that the 60 unreleased bonus tracks in the 49 PAK are 24 bit on the audiophile drives. But they don’t know in advance that I’ll order the 49 PAK. With MY error 2 years ago, I got 12 bit bonus tracks and could only resolve the issue by shipping my audiophile HD back at my expense. I ultimately decided to put up with 60 12 bit tracks for a year. IMHO, if there were a way to have everything ready to go on ordering day, it would create more expense than it is worth.
I said that I had one thing to say in PG Music’s defense, but perhaps I have a second thing to say which is something that I say quite often. Over the years, what PG Music has given me in overall value, far exceeds what they have extracted from my bank account. I often think about what other software companies charge me every year for their yearly updates or subscriptions and realize just how genuinely dedicated PG Music is to helping musicians. They could charge so much more for their software, and they don’t so that it remains affordable to a greater client base. If they do things a certain way that is different from the average company, its usually to keep their costs from being driven up and passed on to their customers. PG Music has been such a customer oriented company during the time that I have been doing business with them, they would have to come to Mobile and burn my house down before I’d complain about their business practices.
