Hello, forum friends

This song is my very first post to the forum.
It was May, 7 years ago, and unfortunately it wasn't the Christmas season.
It's Christmas season right now, so I'd like to introduce the song again.
In addition to the BIAB version posted at that time, I would like to introduce the live band version recorded after that.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Summary of lyrics:

We chose a cafe on the street as the meeting place
I'm waiting for you while looking out the window
It's a cloudy sky but I'm happy for some reason
You don't appear easily, but it's also fun for me

I have prepared a gift for you.
It will snow soon
Come on, run to me

I'll give you my heart
I love you and Merry Christmas to you

You laugh awkwardly
But I'm not angry about being late
I smile at you
There is a sweeter scent than cafe au lait between us

The flowers in front of the store are in full bloom
I want you to bloom near me too

White angels have come down
We have a Happy Christmas today with just two of us
I love you and Merry Christmas to you

Hello Shigeki
This is of course absolute top class
It can hardly be better
Simply ingenious
The singing of Yoko offers the same high level
Bravo, both thumbs up
Many greetings
Andi ;-)

You are working on a level so far above the rest of us here - we're not worthy!! This is great and I love your vocalist. On the intro to the BIAB version, I did feel a disconnect to the main body of the song that I did not experience on the live version. But all told, this is so magnificent. Great holiday fare!

Hi, Shigeki.

I like this song a lot. Great jazz feel, Yoko sounds excellent, and your string writing here is fantastic!

I didn't actually hear much difference between the two - but don't tell your friends! smile

Thanks for re-posting this!

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Shigeki Adachi, if I ever miss a post of yours, please someone remember to poke me. As TuneMonger says (and I seem to be quoting him a lot this morning) you are on a very high level of musical mastery. What a wonderful production and the perfect Christmas feel. I spent a bit of time comparing both versions. Your brass and string scores really elevate the excitement, and, man, the bassist on the live version is outstanding. All the best back at you. Enjoy!!

Enjoy whatever happens!

HI Shigeki ...

I listened to both versions twice. The only thing I liked better in the live version was the bass line. Other than that, the BIAB version is equally fantastic! You are a master composer. And when you blend Yoko's voice with your compositions, it's musical magic. What a treat.

Take care ...

Alan

Shigeki,
Both versions are good! Of course live band is a notch up, but... BIAB version was excellent too, seems it got the composition very close to live performance. Yoko is a wonderful vocalist. Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful composition and production with a very lovely vocal by Yoko.

The BiaB version is amazing and sounds SO much like a "real" orchestra.

Excellent!

Happy Holidays
