That was interesting, a little dark for my taste.. I did like the strings arrangement. Happy Holidaze...

Ray,
This is great! Liked all of it, even reverse reading, except for the mix. I feel it needs more love. I tried listening on two pairs of headphones. AKG 702, which are very clear, in a way a bit flat, and a pro-sumer Sennheiser, which are made to make stuff sound "better" and bassy. I think bass is fighting bass drum and vocals are tooo deep in the mix. Maybe someone with better ears and knowledge can put it in better words, but I think bass and drums have to be separated somehow. BTW cello works very well. Nice teamwork!
Thank you for sharing and HNY!

A 20-second take on the same song, after melodic inversion and accidental use of monster sounds. I am posting it in this truncated form to keep myself from putting any more time into it.

Accidental monsters!!!
That was a bit bright but the inverted verse section is REALLY interesting. The main melody doesn't get far away as it's a definitive, simple ear worm.

Misha.

Yes, I was very lazy - I simply wanted a quick n dirty revenge cover.
Shoegaze music has the vocal underwater while doom metal usually has a soaring female voice over the cellos n strings so I opted for what could be done.
yes, punk solo...

I know! I'm going to steal it for a new piece.

I also do like the monsters, which I really don't know how I invoked. One time I played the piece back and there they were, but there was no turning back at that point.

Hey tacky Ray,

listening to your works is always some journey, man. Only had the time to listen to it resp. watch the video once, either one of which distracted me from the other one in fast waves. But I still could hear the beauty of the chorus ... smirk

Seriously: I'm always caught by your productions, they're always most interesting and experimental. And this goes for this one, too. Absolutely entertaining (and a bit mind-bogging, too).

All the best for tzhe year to come, Ray.

Tacky,

A sense of humor makes for balanced humanity. "...a quick n dirty revenge cover." HA!

Mix is a bit muddy, but after a while seems "appropriate".

Neil Young called. He wants his solo back. (LOVED it!!)

Loved the video, too!!

Ray,

Your fearless approach with experimentation of new sounds and twists of the conventional norms always impresses me! I could hear familiar bits of melody in here that keep it from straying too far off course! Keep on rockin' Torrey

Good cover. It was really enjoyable (although I wish the vocals were a little louder). Cool video too. While very simple, it kept me hanging on my seat wondering what words were coming next (and in what direction). Simple is best, they say.

Good work.
