For the sake of a live performance, I'd look for a good MIDI file of the target song and use that as the basis of my backing track. I might add a RealTrack or two, might substitute a RealDrum, etc. but that way I can get those critical song hooks where needed.

"Good Lovin'" -- Back in my B3 playin' daze, I would try to quote the original studio cut organ solo in entirety. Because it leads directly into the Break. People liked it that way. A good MIDI file is likely to have that in there note for note and a good MIDI synth organ patch is all you need in there.
