Already mailed to support, forgot about the forum.
I installed biab 2010 from my megapack upgrade on
hard disk. Chose not to install the realdrums and
realtracks. Now biab keeps telling me there are
no folders named /drums and /realtracks in the
biab folder. I tried putting in aliases to the folders
on the external hard drive, but that does not work.
So I went to the windows menu and tried setting
the alternative folders, works fine for the realdrums,
but fails to work for realtracks. I keep getting an
error message about only AIFF files with accompa-
nying M4A files can be archived.
I find it very inconvenient that working with aliases
is not supported, because I run biab on a laptop
and do not always have the external hard drive
with me, in which case biab keeps reminding me
the folders are not there.......feature request ?

Hello Martin,
If you don't want to copy all or part of the Drums and RealTracks folders from the USB drive to your internal hard drive, and you aren't using RealTracks, you could just create two empty folders in your Band-in-a-Box folder, Drums and RealTracks - then it won't complain.
Also, with the external hard drive plugged in, in the RealTracks Settings window check the 'Use custom folder' box. Then click the [Folder...] button to browse and select the RealTracks folder on the USB drive. Do the same for RealDrums, to browse and select the Drums folder on the USB drive. (It sounds like you clicked the Archive button in the RealTracks Settings... but you don't want to do that.)
For times when you don't have your external drive, you can revisit those two windows and uncheck the custom folder boxes. It will still remember the folder locations, so you won't have to browse for it in the future when you plug the drive back in again.

hi Andrew,
Thanks for your reply. I used the button with the three dots to the right of the folder input field, didn't know that would act as the archive button.
Made adjustments as you suggested, BIAB does complain some realtracks are not correctly installed, when I switch back to the default realtracks folder....?

Hello Martin,
I see, you're right, the ... button is not quite in the correct spot. It should be next to the archive button.
You might see that message if you open the RealTracks window but you shouldn't see it when you open the program. Since you wouldn't be able to use RealTracks anyways, you wouldn't be opening the RealTracks dialog...

hi Andrew,
You're right, it does not show up when I open the application.
Maybe it would be a good idea to make layout and naming
identical in the drums settings and realtrack settings windows ?
